Away Form

We are shocking away from home.

Pellagrini handed that to Villa through fucking nonsense selection & decisions. It is plain to see that Negredo and Dzeko cannot play together they are too similar. Jovetic should of started with one of them. Navas on the bench resting for champions league even. Nasri running the game an gets subbed at 2-1 to keep him fresh for Wednesday. When our away form is the way it is he should of learned by now to play his best team. Instead he is prioritising a competition that we have no chance of winning. He did it at Stoke and he's done it again today.

Yes villa had 3 attacks and scored 3 goals. But it was obvious the players were lacking killer instinct in the final Third all game. We relied on set pieces for our goals. If you don't kill it off in the premiership away from home your in massive trouble. And if you play well and don't win regularly away from home then your not going to win the league.

The scum should be out of sight, instead they are 3 points behind. If Arsenal win tonight they are 5 clear of us with stupidly easy fixtures in the next 6. Atrocious from the manager.

If I recall, Villa beat Arsenal as well and so what if they have Ozil now. City and us fans have to stop slagging of teams who are fielding a bunch of top talent as "easy fixtures" there are no easy fixtures.
The first half was easy. Villa were the worst team we've played in than 45minutes for a long time. They did nowt but watch us dominate them and they went in just 0-1 down.

Our 2013 league away record:

P12 W4 D3 L5 GS: 13 GC: 15 GD: -2 Pts: 15.

That's 15 points out of a possible 36.

In comparison:

United:

P12 W6 D4 L2 GS: 23 GC: 14 GD: +9 Pts: 22.

That included a 6 game run without conceding an away goal and picking up more points than we did in double the games.

Chelsea:

P12 W4 D4 L4 GS: 18 GC: 14 GD: +4 Pts: 16.

Arsenal:

Think that shows that the Premier League is tougher than the top European leagues because in general the away percentages are lower, but we're bottom of the pile in both and by a long way. Our away form is nowhere near good enough, it's pretty shambolic 2bh. To sum up, here are the results compared to the 17 Premier League teams that have featured this season and last.

Great stats and shows how much improvement we need. Would be great to beat Bayern this week as that would give us breathing space going into weeks of West Ham, Moscow and Chelsea.

Stats amazing, not good reading though.

We were so dominant in the first half, was so angry when we conceded the offside goal.

I think Villa were on damage limitation then they got some belief

Piss poor, would most likely be suicidal if not for the rags getting humped at home, but we must worry about ourselves not the scum!!

17) Norwich-0.455.

Not impressive, as potent away as Fulham and not quite as Southampton and Villa. Averaging just over a point per away game in 2013, not the stuff of champions elect.

That, is shocking. With no manager I'd expect this group of players to be able to pick up more points than that. Pellegrini certainly has his work cut out.

If arsenal sort out their home form they could run away with the title. They clearly have the tactical nouse and quality to bag away points. We need to sort our away form quickly otherwise its over for this year.

The stats are depressing.

It can't get much worse.

Cardiff and Villa's only wins at home this year have been against us.

Amazing how raggy some on here have become!

We are just a few games in with a manager brand new to the Premier League. There have been some great moments and some very poor moments. We are only a decent run of games from the top and this season has a long, long way to go!

Yesterday's showing was not bad. If we'd gone on to win 2-1 everybody would have been saying how we are now on the right track and "bring on Bayern". But football is not like that and let's face it, though it was as much our doing as theirs, Villa got a very lucky result.

Our Manager will be learning from his mistakes; the formations needed at home and away, combinations of players that work and don't and hopefully that tightening up the defense is just as important as finding ways to score when we are dominating games. The signs are we are figuring out how to play our new way. Clichy will hopefully help get us back to being a mean defense. David Silva will add another dimension in attack.

Come on City!
