Away tickets price cap next 3 seasons

If it sounds cheaper then people will find the money. My Seasoncard went from £600 to £620 so I relocated for another £600 seat. People have their limit.

Great news for fans, and a stop to some ridiculous prices.

Interesting to see what happens to points whores, and those wishing to build up points. Some games will go nowhere near as low as they have been doing, and at £30 it's more attractive to be a 'points whore' than at £55, for example.

Away supporters make up 3,000 seats at most, at all Premier League games.

Whilst the token gesture will benefit those who have the time/disposable income, it's a grand illusion.

How can it be right that a United fan can visit the Etihad and pay £20 cheaper than myself to watch the same game.

All this bullshit about trying to maintain atmosphere and ensure full grounds.

Until something like this is done across the board, home and away, all it does is benefit a very few, and doesn't even touch the sides in terms of financial impact to clubs.

True, but the flip side to that is City fans will be paying cheaper prices than United fans at Old Trafford - the fact that it's a flat rate across the board means every away fan of every club sees the benefit so it's as impartial as it gets. It could be argued that the furore over the £62 tickets at Arsenal away 3 seasons when we returned around 900 tickets was the catalyst for this because that was what sparked off the FSF's Twentysplenty campaign for cheaper away tickets.

As for home tickets, well the FSF have always argued that if we can achieve a breakthrough on away ticket prices then that could well make it easier for us to campaign for cheaper home tickets too. I've had an active involvement in the Twentysplenty campaign and I'd be equally happy to participate in any future action for cheaper home tickets too.

great news this. west brom give discounts for over 60's so I will now pay 15 brick ;0

on the downside whores will buy tickets for 30 quid and get the points.

You're right, it couldn't be fairer. Anyone taking negatives from this needs to wobble their heads - any excuse for a moan I suppose!

It's a great day for football fans and a big step towards fairer ticket prices across the board. Everyone who campaigned for this, despite other fans' doubts should be proud of themselves.

All true, but as an away day regular I'm delighted with this news nonetheless.
