Away tickets

So we now understand that a supporters club member is getting 3 bites at getting a ticket for an away fixture as opposed to a normal fan on the loyalty scheme
1 supporters club
2 loyalty points
3 any tickets that you can scrounge off the club
How many more options do you want, to obtain a ticket.
All we ask is a level playing field .

Do you mean by point 3 having somebody the Club trusts to manage last minute returns to ensure more die hard Blues get in the game?

I appreciate there are opposing views on this but you simply can't say that giving tickets to people who are by definition supporters isn't "fair".

Branches were getting tickets long before we had points or hospitality customers, because it was an easy way of distributing tickets in the pre-internet days. They probably get far less currently than they used to. Personally, as I've said before, I'd like us to look at the whole way we distribute tickets in light of where we are now, both technology and demand-wise.

My own preference would be to reduce hospitality to 10%, like they do at United (who've got many more hospitality customers than we have) and give the rest to season ticket holders, bar the club allocation of around 5%, which would mean 85% of tickets going to ST holders. I'd give 75% to points and put 10% to a ballot.

The fairness comes from where those tickets really go. If they're going to the supporter on high points whose name the ticket is in, no problem. Looking around the concourse at away games doesn't seem to suggest that though.

Your suggestion on the change to way tickets are distributed is definitely something I can get on board with. I just don't think the club have an appetite to change it to that extent unfortunately

However these Corporate Jonny come laters who flash the cash you are more than willing to allow away tickets to..
however a supporters Club who got 2 tickets you want to close down as it's worthless and unfair?

I'm not willing to allow anything. I don't have a say.

I also don't think the supporters clubs are worthless in the slightest. I think that the ticketing allocations and distributions are outdated in this era of technology

Well you are voicing your opinion. Where would you like to see away tickets distributed? And also how would you distribute any home tickets we need to shift and the odd away like Wembley.
What do you think we should do with the supporters Clubs? Why do you feel the corporate should be in front of us for away games?

There should be no last minute returns, and it's not a question of trust.
There should be a cut off period for whoever these tickets are being held for,eg 2 weeks before the match and in the case of a short notice match (Newport ) 4 days.
And then they should be sent back to the box office.
Stop trying to make out that the supporters clubs are the only way that these tickets can be shifted.

I agree with this sentiment but the Club give the sponsors and players families this flexibility and they won’t change it, unfortunately. All that will happen is that there will be empty seats in our away end and the people misusing Kevin Parker’s emails will have achieved sweet FA.

If the bigger debate about away tickets with City Matters changes or ends Supporter Club allocations then we will accept it. We won’t be running round leaking people’s emails like a bunch of Der Spiegel Wannabees.

As previously stated, the 20% given to supporters clubs should be lumped in with the 60% that goes to the points system. That would mean that everybody gets a ticket through their own supporter number without the need for a middle man.

The home ticket and Wembley thing is completely irrelevant. We have a ticketing website that should deal with ALL home tickets. I don't understand how home tickets are even an issue you're bringing up here as they are massively irrelevant to the conversation and thread. And any excess away or Wembley tickets that are found late on should be distributed fairly to the supporter base who may have missed out when it sold out at a points level. That really isn't difficult to understand and it shouldn't be difficult to implement either. They shouldn't be being distributed to Kevin Parker to allow anybody in a supporters club to have. There's no point in a points system if that is happening.

Supporters clubs should be what supporters clubs should be. Social gatherings and meetings. If the supporters clubs want to organise buses to home games then why can't they without the promise of away ticket allocations. It's all very odd.

Do I really need to explain the corporate thing to you again? You and I are not going to solve that one. Reducing the allocation as Prestwich Blue suggested would be ideal but I would say highly unlikely.

Well Wolfie we must go to different games pal as the ones I go to see empty blue seats...
For Burnley FA Cup game the other week supporters Clubs were allocated the Legends area.
For West Ham home I've had an email about Legends area and a price special offer.
The supporters clubs distribute more home tickets than you can think of however you are happy for corporates to take the away ones? which is puzzling indeed.

I hope to see this proposed in the next meeting then

You can come on here and play to the crowd but let's see it in the minutes because so far, all I can see is a load of nodding dogs in awe of the club wanting to keep their chair at the table for two years

Commit to your proposal and threaten to walk if you don't get it. That might make them move a bit and end the appalling % we seasoncard holders get. Imagine the impact of the City Matters group not having a representative through principle, they would have to act
