Away tickets

I've bought dozens of tickets from a source in the club when I've not been able to get through my own points. I've paid more than face value each and every time. I wouldn't dream of handing over the stubs. For two reasons:
it would kill one route for tickets
it's a c*nts trick - if you don't want to pay over the odds, don't buy.

Then people shouldn’t be moaning about paying over the odds or looking a member of City Matters to do their work for them.

If you are happy to support touting because that suits you then that’s your choice. When it’s against the rules of this Forum that’s a different matter.

I dont blame the tourists, and they don't deserve abuse, my sympathy lies with the city fan who has earnt loyalty points watching the lesser games, and then when a big game comes along, he/she is overlooked because the tickets end up in the wrong hands. The loyalty point system, works, and supporters club work, selling tickets to randoms for inflated prices is the biggest issue bar none, yet gets no scrutiny whatsoever. Spurs away in the champions league last 8, the away end should be full of passionate City fans urging and helping the team along, not gawping at your phone taking selfies, and not caring if City win or lose.

I’m glad more people are trying to cotton onto and make issue of this more. Well said!
The issue for me is, it doesn’t seem if that particular issue is being addressed.
All we hear about are the “points whores” and how we’ll tackle them by doing ID checks, on the loyal fans.
Meanwhile the tourists will still get theirs through the club/corporate and swan in with impunity.

This all day long. You go to support your team not video everything and take photos every five minutes. I still think the club is more than complicit in allowing this abuse to go on hence why games like the derby sell out so high. I think it’s less than the 60% they say goes on sale to points holders

I'm not supporting touting. I just accept it as a price you sometimes have to pay. It's gone on since time immemorial and always will. I'd love for there to be no need for touts. That all tickets went genuinely on sale. But the club cream of hundreds/thousands of tickets for staff and corporate. Hence, I, and others, have to buy at inflated prices - but only if we choose to.

Spot on. I’ve paid well over the odds a few times in years gone by to see City and at World Cup ganes

It is more like 33% for united away and bournemouth away, and probably closer to 90% for city away at swansea in the cup.

When every under 11s coach, womens team, and players friends and family get their share, there is a lot less to be split - and they all come out for united away.
This is a massive problem. As I've alluded elsewhere, I often get away tix through a club source. I pay over the odds, which doesn't bother me, but it makes me wonder just how many tickets are being creamed off by the club staff who can then resell at a very tidy profit.

I'm sorry you have read my post in a manor that was not intended,I would never ever talk to you or anyone else in a shitty manor and at the age of 63 I am not a petulant child nor do I need help as I am in the top quartile in the loyalty system.
Like you I am privy to certain things that go on at City and I can assure you that these tickets that keep cropping up with 2 or 3 days are coming from within the club either from staff not taking up there allowance or corporate not wanting tickets for the perceived less glamorous matches.
I personally think this is wrong and that they should have a cut off date 7 days prior to the game?
Finally I was unaware that you had a City Matters email address and I will use that in future.
Sorry once again for any offence, non was intended
Well done sir, first time I have ever seen anyone use the word quartile in a post.

But some fans going to support their team spend big chunks of the game in the bar or chatting with their mates totally oblivious to the game itself. Bet no one says owt to them.

Apology accepted and I agree with you. 7 days should be the cut-off for everyone.

Or someone suggested the club should bow to the inevitable & have some sort of portal for tickets that aren't going to be used, cutting out things like the Facebook pages, Twitter accounts & the Ticket forum on here. That would enable them to control this.
