Brighton sold out @ 19500 points
The adding of the 400 points for 2 cup schemes on Tuesday is the reason for that high points sell out!
Brighton sold out @ 19500 points
Balls!!! Don’t usually moan, I am on just under 19000. I will no doubt hear stories of tourists and first away games and see my arse even more.Brighton sold out @ 19500 points
I think someone said you had to be a member and would have had to have joined before a particular date. Not sure if that changed the closer it got to the game.Unless I've missed a thread on here, has anyone looked in to getting in the Brighton end? I've got my ticket but I'm going down with three mates that have appeared to have missed out...
Just been looking and I have a London address (not mine) but they won't let me register.Unless I've missed a thread on here, has anyone looked in to getting in the Brighton end? I've got my ticket but I'm going down with three mates that have appeared to have missed out...

I suspect if you've got deep enough pockets you can stand at Brighton train station on the day of the game and offer to buy tickets off them - or go on their forum and ask the question.

Had a season card since 2007, on all the cup schemes and I used to go away games, no chance now only got a measly 8000 points...
You've done more than the odd away gameI've had a seasoncard since the beginning of the 2007/2008 season. Prior to that had a Citycard at the last season of Maine Rd and had 110 points by the time we got to the Etihad. Had a Citycard and Only missed 2 home games in the first 2 seasons at the Etihad so accrued 10 points a game for those but then didn't pay for a home for 2 years as I sold Half oTime draw tickets for the club and got in for nowt. Did the odd away game starting in 2006.
I've got 19970 points
You're not wrong but just a general thought on the matter. The unfortunate ones that have missed out as it stands will no doubt be disappointed, but no system in the world will prevent it.If we drop points to Burnley or Leicester there will be loads available, I'm sure - although quite the opposite of what I'm hoping for

Ok fair point...I meant in 2006. I go to every one I can get a ticket for now. Only one's i've been unable to get a ticket for this season have been Oxford, Newport and Bournemouth.
I'm just exposing the myths about a closed shop
Ask her to get me a ticket then ;-)My brother-in-laws sister lives in Brighton, although she's a Spurs fan I'm sure she's been to one of their games before...
And me :)Ask her to get me a ticket then ;-)
The only way any sort of ballot would work would be a % maybe equally from each of the 3 pots (which isn't going to happen) & ID for ballot winners only to close down that possible black market issue. You're not wrong but just a general thought on the matter. If, god forbid, we had a full ballot, then imagine how many more drop outs there would be? Or, if the Brighton game is still in our hands - imagine how many would be applying with no intention of going as they know they'll be able to sell it at a profit? Someone who hasn't missed a game for 10 years but missed out on the ballot would be pretty desperate I'd imagine - how much would they pay for a ticket?
Every alleged fault of the current loyalty point system would be amplified by introducing an alternative. The ONLY exception to that is that younger supporters are at a disadvantage, but
1) a ballot has been introduced for 18-25 yr olds,
2) a tweak to the points system moving it to a 5 year rolling period would remove that disadvantage, and
3) on the basis of what I've seen this season I'm not sure its a good idea to give that age group more tickets anyway (sweeping statement I know).
At least with the current system, the vast majority there who have acquired their tickets through the points scheme are there (and been for 20 years) at every game win, lose or draw, in Manchester, Brighton, Ukraine or wherever. The majority with tickets now will still go even if the next 10 days doesn't go to plan and winning the league isn't in our hands.

The system for who gets the tickets is one thing and ID checks to make sure they use them is another. The only way any sort of ballot would work would be a % maybe equally from each of the 3 pots (which isn't going to happen) & ID for ballot winners only to close down that possible black market issue.
More than anything (again not a cat in hells chance) would be ID for all the corporate ticket issues, they could collect from the away ground with a complimentary glass of wine. I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be anything like the take up there is now from them. However, as the club don't seem to give a shit after all there's no direct profit in away tickets its not going to get any better for the 'normal' travelling fans.
You're leaving out the solution that most city fans would favour though and that is to increase the measly 60% that go to seasoncard holders
Bear in mind this could also be bullshit from the club, some games could easily have less than this if the SC, corporate or club employees want more but taking them on face value, 60% is still a joke
