Away tickets

im struggling to see the big fuss about the collection of tickets as long as the club keep the amount collecting to a reasonable level. all collections will be dealt with by club staff at the ground so theres no travelling out of the way involved.

1. Having to buy photo ID (fair enough if abroad but not for UK games), 2. having to queue for god knows how long (they look in boxes for several minutes), 3. if you are delayed on route you are fucked. 4. Some one can't make it you will be dealt with as tehy do not accept returns in the last week. 5. You will be turning in hoping they have your ticket and no guarantee.

The CM rep is already talking about a rolling system, but that will not work with no away points this season. They haven't got a clue what they are doing, and are just throwing out one daft idea after another.

Looks that way. I may be jumping the gun here, it's possible that they just forgot to put the '40 points for attending' content on or I missed it, but if I'm not...

It means that the current hierarchy has been set in stone. You are where you are in the pecking order now. No moving up or down. No need to worry that you will fall further behind by skipping early rounds (midweek away) of the League cup. No chance to move up and qualify for Bournemouth away in your own right instead of relying on points whores. Once you're no longer young enough to qualify for the ballot you'll be as far behind as ever and you'll never have a chance to catch up.

Lets take the most meritocratic system in the Premier League and remove the meritocratic bit from it.

Genius.
It will be interesting to see what happens now though. If high points can’t be arsed going to Bournemouth and early cup games etc then surely that means that other fans get a chance to go to games that they never would have had a chance to attend.
If we don’t sell these tickets then the club can say they tried something and it never worked so they can go back to points again. Personally, I think the former. High points supporters don’t need to worry as they will always have first shout.

Well reading his Twitter feed he's stating it takes two minutes to pick these tickets up from away clubs tickets offices.

Also, which will please @squirtyflower this one about civil liberties.

Incorrect.

Another answer, a misguided perception.

At Heyside, there was coach(es) transport for every single game 2018/19, we went directly to the ground for Watford (Traffic and Tradition), Stretford, Bournemouth (Distance) Burton (Recommendation) Crystal Palace (Distance and Kick off time) and Spurs CL (Tradition and New ground).

6 from 28. If kick off times were different 3 from 28.

It's the mid pointers who are getting shafted here.

As you say we will have to see how this plays out over the course of the season.

Interesting that in a tweet on page 63 PB states 'It's just an attempt to make sure the tickets are sold fairly. That's it'. If that were the case then surely they should be starting with the supporters branches and the corporates / ticket office?

Yeah I agree with that.

Not sure why they don’t just do a ballot.

I’m glad younger people will have a better chance though, our away crowds have got quieter recently and it’s the same old faces stood with arms folded.

A ballot is a definite no go will turn into a touts dream.

As for quiet at away games I am not sure which ones you've been to. The only fans that are quiet are the ones so pissed they can not stand up. Half the time its like the late 80s with half the fans fucked out of their head.

But he didn't mind getting a ticket unfairly for united last year.
That's different though. I know someone who doesn't qualify for tickets rang up someone at the ticket office for an away game last year that sold out at higher than expected points and was asked how many he/she wanted. Five please and lo and behold five were posted out. Now if there are 50 people doing that each game there's two hundred and fifty tickets just going out of the door. Add that to the abuse of the corporate tickets, those found on reseller sites etc and there are probably more than 50% of tickets 'sold' for an away game being done so unfairly. Why hasn't City Matters been looking at that. If I have a ticket for a game but become ill or my missus decides to book a surprise night away not realising I have a ticket why can't I pass it on to mate who lost out on points as I can't send it back to the club the day before. Why do supporter club branches get emails stating there are returns and who wants them, why don't they get put back on sale to those who lost out on points etc i.e. everyone. The whole system is flawed and it won't suit everyone but this new system will piss off more than before but it's ok because those that like the idea will still get their hands on a ticket for any game they want.

Just read the OS statement briefly.

The club have played a blinder on this one.

No away points.

But points for all home games, including cup games.

So, now I’m forced to rejoin the FA Cup and League Cup schemes that I decided to drop out of, to make up missing out on the now stopped away points.

Prestwich Blue.

Not going to call you. You can’t win.

And I know you don’t post on here anymore.

So I would like you to forward a reply from the club on to Ric or to a Mod, please.

Can you find out from the club if the Collect in Destination checks also apply to Tunnel Club members and other corp members, or is it only season ticket holders?

I stand corrected on this, but don’t Tunnel Club Members get 1 away ticket each? If so, where are they ending up, because I’m 99% sure most of those away tickets don’t get used by the Tunnel Club members. They are either sold or passed on. Do the checks include sponsors as well, who get free away tickets?

Can you also ask the club to explain why resale ticket sites manage to get hold of away tickets and sell them on at inflated prices. The club are fully aware of this, and always have been. Can you ask the club what they are actively doing to stop this, because it is still going on.

If the club are doing random checks on season ticket holders, they should be doing random checks on Tunnel Club members, corporates, and sponsors, or are they not being randomly checked?

I look forward to your reply.

Many thanks.

I know a lad who got 4 for Brighton from someone that has a distant link to someone in the club. None of them had anywhere near the required points. Suppose this has happened since day one though.
