Away tickets

I think we need some clarification on a fair few points to be honest. If indeed the CM reps agreed to things as detailed above, it needs to be made clear by the club. If the club have decided to do it differently then the City Matters people need to make it clear that this is not what they agreed to, for their own good as much as anyone else’s, because at the moment it’s they that are being hung out to dry and the club seem happy for them to take all the flak. Regarding the ID checks though, I do feel PB’s tweet the other day defending supporters clubs who buy tickets and pass them on was quite telling and unless I’m barking up the wrong tree, it seemed to be an admission that the supporters club allocation won’t be subject to ID checks.
Whatever people’s feelings are on all this, I agree that nobody should be getting personal threats though, and that sort of shit is typical of social media, Twitter in particular.

I haven’t seen PBS tweet so I can comment on the specifics. That approach might have backfired but it’s City who make the decisions.

Yes City Matters members do need to make clear what they agreed and I think the 18-25 rep did that. IMHO the City Matters Reps were on a hiding to nothing from the day the Season Card prices were increased for this season. This wasn’t a CM decision but they needed an “early win” to
Soften the flak they were likely to receive on other issues. Once the season card prices were increased, CM should probably have refused to deal with the Away Tickets issues, but it’s all very easy for me to say in hindsight.

True. Celtic away I was spared the queue in the rain, because on the official Thomas Cook coach, we were given our armbands en route. I did however get a thorough soaking on the way back because the coach was leaking (Karma maybe). I'm pretty sure on other official Thomas Cook flights we were also given our armbands on the plane.
They were.
I went to Madrid on my own and had to collet them from the designated hotel.
The Mrs went over on the Thomas Cook flight and had hers given to her.

I believe all Blues should have equal access to tickets. That's why I personally favour a ballot system, or any other system that gives an equal chance for tickets to everybody.

I don't agree that somebody that has been lucky enough to have the time and money to do all aways for the last X number of years, is somehow more deserving than somebody that hasn't had that opportunity.

I tend to agree with this, up to a point. I think a proportion of tickets should go to ballot. I do have some sympathy for people who genuinely go week in week out to almost every game, home and away.

I've long complained though that my loyalty points don't reflect the loyalty I've shown (47 unbroken years as a season ticket holder blah, blah). Circumstance has meant that I've not been able to go to as many away games in more recent times as I used to and now it's really difficult to get tickets for away games that I do want to attend. For most of the aways I've been to in the last couple of years, I've sat with the home supporters.

A ballot would at least give me a chance of getting tickets for away games where currently there is none. For years and years I never missed a Derby, home or away but the only time I've managed to get tickets for the Swamp in last however many years is for League cup ties.

West ham still on sale - down to 18k now. There were seats left in one block in lower tier and two in upper tier when I bought just now. Be interesting to see if seats remain after today as the initial selling criteria doesn't always accurately reflect how low it might go in the end. Not that I expect it to go Much lower...

I am probably one of the few people who don't think it is that big a deal re: Corporate - where as I agree the Supporters Club is antiquated and an unnecessary allocation (I am in a certain musicians fan club - we don't get any priority on tickets but I am still in it). The thing with Corporate (especially the expensive Corporate) is - if you pay 50k for some swanky box you do expect the odd perk. This amount of money they have paid at least pays for almost a week of Sane's wages (given he won't sign the improved contract), where as the season ticket money regular home and away fan Fred Bloggs pays probably pays for Sane to have a long dump after training.

Just curious, but if City had been given an unrestricted allocation of tickets for all the PL away games last season, then how many times would we have comfortably exceeded 3,000?

I would guess Arsenal on the opening day, and then Liverpool and Huddersfield, plus the last three at United, Burnley and Brighton.

For the other games, (such as midweek trips to Tottenham, Watford, Newcastle, and Everton), I’m not so sure

Possibly, possibly Chelsea.

A better question would be how many didn't sellout, the ones that did would obviously have attracted more than 3k.

But I think each game would need to be looked at individually taking into account distance, time of game, time of year, importance and probably loads of other stuff.

No one is disagreeing - corporate is a necessity to the success of the club, but it should be proportional. I don't remember the exact figures and don't want to guess, but I remember we were giving twice the number of tickets to corporate than United and Liverpool were.

Also, people in Joes and 9320 are paying more for their season tickets than I am, but to continue your analogy - the difference wouldn't afford Sane much additional shitting time.
