Awful songs by bands you love

My neighbour treated us to a couple of hours of early Beatles hits this morning... some very popular tunes, but played back to back they turn into dirgy skiffle stuff with ropey as feck drumming, dodgy progressions, flat vocals blasted out at the same level, always in the same key, and topped off by the godawful caterwalling harmonica.

The Beatles are the most over rated band of all time.

No, I had bit of a morning head on, but honestly. Love Me Do. It's horrible. Back it up with Can't Buy Me Love, She Loves Me, Eight Days A Week and so on... and you start to lose track of which bout of painful over-excited bout of hollering and heavy handed playing is which.

A recurring theme ,generally is that an artists best work is usually done in the early years, Elton john.bowie, rod stewart , name most of em ,and you find as they age they are less creative/innovative

remember i think it was the undertones talking about the second album syndrome where generally its never as good as the first, and they were saying its taken all of your life to create the first and less than a year to make the second

Most things post Morning Glory were turgid for me...
What’s The Story is down there with my least favourites of their albums. That and Be Here Now (which I’m also not keen on) are bookended with my two favourites in Definitely Maybe and Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants.
