Much better than he was when he first came. Steady run of games helping. Two really wayward passes though that against better sides could have put us in trouble. Pep clearly rates him.
 
No one better in that position, Harry McGuire takes the plaudits for England but Eric is superior.
 
He's becoming a very good player. However, he does ball watch quite a lot and is then having to react to being out of position. Also, he's a little bit sloppy with his passing at times. Almost cost us vs Hoffenheim with dodgy back passes and could have quite easily contributed to a Kompany red card on Saturday. That aside, he's great and will get better and better.
 
He is fast turning into an absolutely fantastic signing for us. It is strange that commentators never seem to talk up his performances like McGuire and, in particular, VVD....and he is still only 24.
 
I know Dicky VD is already a shoe-in for Best defender of this generation, but honestly Laporte runs him close.
Well as close as a mortal man can a god.
