From the "leaks" Iv read, city aren't overly bothered seems the stance. Implying that the deal was offered and if excepted would of been good, but it wasn't and city ain't going to loose sleep.

So £51 million for a CB is now too low? Christ. Nothing fishy imoSomething is fishy about this. His new release clause is way too low. They literally raised it by only 10 million. Makes me wonder if something else is going on.
Is this a case of instead of triggering the release we are buying outright for say 45 million. Laporte doesn't have to trigger his clause. He doesn't pay tax on the clause. Bilbao gets an extra 5 million and we pay what we would have anyway in taxes? Unlikely I know...I obviously want this kid.
