Aymeric Laporte

He was a kid at a place he regards as home and has looked after him. Thought it showed a humbleness rarely seen in the game.

Meh, if he comes, he comes. Personally I like the fact that Pep doesn’t go back for waverers though. Sends a message and focuses the mind. You get one chance to play for the best. You don’t take it, then more fool you

Johnny Evans has a £3m relegation clause that came to light yesterday.

IMO it wouldn't be surprising if we're moving for Laporte now, instead of waiting until July, because we reckon we will pick up Evans for peanuts in the summer.

It's just a change in strategy from getting the 4th choice back up in immediately, and getting the starting quality 3rd choice in the summer to visa versa.

Well Laporte, Stones, Otamendi and Evans is a great blend. All comfortable on the ball. We're building such a great squad.

What does it say?
After Sanchez has already begun, so the City tries to respond to United. In fact, Guardiola's team is considering paying the 65 million euro clause to Athletic Bilbao for Aymeric Laporte . After the English team had already probed him in the summer of 2016, he would now be ready to return to office. The will is to bring it to the court of Pep Guardiola as early as January. In the next few hours the decisive thrust?

Think the author has a dirty mind tbh.

He wouldn't just be 3rd choice, he would rotate and copete with Otamendi regularly and start in the games we play a back 3 when Mendy comes back.

Agreed and makes a lot of sense to do that. Evans is a positive in the league as he would not need to settle the way Laporte will. But the league is less an issue and financially it makes sense to approach it this way. Plus Laporte may become harder to get in the summer. I think he would be a real asset in the CL this season and gets time to settle into the league and pace of it.
