At the moment there is no guarantee the lad will make a full recovery or when this will be.
It is a bad injury and if they are making positive noises re an injury recovery I would be even more suspicious given they are tough negotiators.
If the club I advise was trying to sign a player with this injury I would tell them to forget the transfer until there has been a full assessment of the player once he has fully recovered from injury. This will not happen in the next 3-4 months if indeed he has a fracture dislocation of the ankle. Fact.
Scans alone do not tell the story. You need to fully examine and asses the player.
I meant tough negotiator as doing everything they can to keep the player. That wouldn't make sense by shortening the injury length, which encourages clubs interested.

It would make sense if the player had a serious injury and was not going to be able to feature for sometime. They may be looking to cash in on their assets before too late.
That's my point.

His own club have got a vested interest in selling him at the highest possible price, hence "minimising" the injury profile at this early stage.
The reality is this is a career threatening injury in a footballer and it will take an awful lot longer than 3-4 months to know how well he recovers from it.
Our club are bound to do their homework here given the huge sums involved.

You think our club wouldn't know his exact medical situation? I am sure fucking Laporte wouldn't want to fool us into buying him. You think he knows its more like 8-9 months but just projecting 3 months so that he can move here and then just piss us off? How is that helping him. Clubs arn't stupid specially a club huge as ours to not know exactly what his reports are and have maybe even outside doctors having a look into it !

If you start doubting the 3-4 months given by Bilbao you have to question everything in football

Three words:
Roque Santa Cruz

two deformed legs and a deformed spine actually, makes a broken ankle seem a bit trivial!

A bit off topic, but Garrincha's a fascinating character. There's a great biography on him by Ruy Castro.

Pretty major womaniser and drinker, and effectively deformed as you say, but an absurdly good footballer by all accounts. More loved and revered in Brazil than Pele apparently. Plus he lost his virginity to a goat. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
