He'll be fit by the time the window opens.
No he won't
Fracture dislocation of ankle = minimum 6-9 months before return to match fitness.
Won't be doing any high impact training for at least 3 months.
Only a lunatic would sign him now. Then again...,.

You are operating on some old information there.

He's out for 3-4 months as reported by hundreds of news agencies last week.

Out for 3 months = beginning of July.

4 months = beginning of August.

He will be fit enough to have a medical during the transfer window.

We'll see mate.
I do this stuff for a living and having seen the injury and if reports are true he had a fracture dislocation there is NO WAY he will pass a medical in three to four months.
Even with a simple fibula fracture it would be pushing it!

I'm sure you know better than his own club.

His own club have got a vested interest in selling him at the highest possible price, hence "minimising" the injury profile at this early stage.
The reality is this is a career threatening injury in a footballer and it will take an awful lot longer than 3-4 months to know how well he recovers from it.
Our club are bound to do their homework here given the huge sums involved.

Or they would have an interest in keeping him, and claim that the injury will be a lengthy one to eliminate any chance of bids arriving.

Bilbao are a very difficult club to negotiate with.

At the moment there is no guarantee the lad will make a full recovery or when this will be.
It is a bad injury and if they are making positive noises re an injury recovery I would be even more suspicious given they are tough negotiators.
If the club I advise was trying to sign a player with this injury I would tell them to forget the transfer until there has been a full assessment of the player once he has fully recovered from injury. This will not happen in the next 3-4 months if indeed he has a fracture dislocation of the ankle. Fact.
Scans alone do not tell the story. You need to fully examine and asses the player.
