This is just silly. He has no responsibility to inform City of anything. He plays for a different club, and if he decides to stay, he can just annouce it by signing a contract.

He has no responsibility to tell us shit. Resigning is all he needs to do. And he did. Gutted he is not coming. But let's not pretend he owes us shaite. He doesn't.
 
I thought it was always going to be Laporte or Stones - not both, and given the choice I'd prefer Stones because I know him. Just hope we get Stones now.

He's a professional sportsman not a fan, if you've got any character and ambition you want to play at the highest level and compete for top prizes, the kid has shown a serious lack of ambition and has been badly advised and will regret his decision long term,loyalty may be an admirable trait but give me medals and silverware all day long.

I agree, like you I not questioning anything I read on here but really dont like all this "not first choice" or "too expensive at his age" stories.....as you say, we'd be laughing if this was the other way round.....It's clear he was one of our top targets this summer and that we've spent months trying to get this deal done....Club must know that people expected this to be done after all the leaks to the press that this was close and these stories seem a bit like we trying to cover our backs from a PR standpoint....prefer if we just stayed silent....

It wasn't. It was clearly both. But you end up being right only because laporte snubbed us. :)
 
Fuckin hell, snubbed by an injured £40m 22 year old. Maybe one of the big Spanish clubs have told him to stay put for a year? Whatever, fuck him.

Think he's been there since 16, went out on loan for a year. If his mentality is weak then probably a good thing to miss out, however it's shit for the club to leak crap.
