Rite 30m I love city obviously but why are our players quality players as well valued so low? In todays market he's got to be 50m minimum, can't understand it, like cancelo both players should bring massive money yet no teams seem to want them or if they do its for peanuts
Because they are surplus, for the most part we've only sold players that were once first teamers but now is the time to move on
Like Sane, sure people said we sold low, but given how he's been OK at best for Bayern it seems a good deal
Jesus, Sterling, Zinchenko...all sold for market value as opposed to overinflating their values, watching them have an awful season and then see their value depreciate
Yes £30mil is low for Laporte, but given no one has bitten yet shows that we are probably justified. He's world class, but he's also been a bit of a liability in the big games and has had a fair few injury problems over the years. Factor that he's on pretty big wages, and likely will want more at the next place it starts to seem a bit fairer
Cancelo I don't see as massive money. We only spent £60mil on him because of the deal we had with Juve to help each others books. He's a phenomenal player, but again he's similar to Laporte in that he has a real error in him and going backwards he's not great. The loan at Bayern showed Europe he's a hot/cold player, again on big wages and nearing his 30's
we can't say Canelo/Laporte are out of our first team picture, which tbf both are, then demand £50mil for a bench player
Holding players for ransom is what the other clubs do and that's why they can never shift them
