Ba

Could be an Anelka-esque signing for Chelsea. I suspect he might suit their system more than he would ours.

It probably means they have shelved any Falcao plans until summer which also means if we're in for Falcao it gives us time to move players so we can go for him too.

Falcao was never going to be moving in Jan, imo.

Few teams getting work done early, debuchy, ba and sturridge. Hopefully we can follow suit.

Thought Platt said we were unlikely to do any business in the window

you believe him??? he like the others knew very well that if we want to retain title we need to buy especially with yaya and kolo of for the farse who is ACON

Great buy from Chelsea esp at a paltry 7m. The man scores goals.

Perhaps they've cooled interest in Falcoa now then?

Chelsea are doing amazingly good transfer business recently. All players they've bought in last year or more had already made big impact.
I don't think Hazard lived to the hype yet. Everybody thought that he's going to have big influence to their game, but so far it's Mata for me.

Agree, Hazard started brilliantly and lived the hype for a while and he was hyped as good as next Ronaldo/Messi.

Good even after that brilliant start but nowhere near good yet of what he was made to be before he went there.
Hazard has been consistently brilliant for us but there have been a few games which completely pass him by. His impact has been overshadowed by the magnificence of Mata however who has raised his game to new levels this season. Hazard seems to be playing more of a passing game (presumably under instruction) lately and I feel he is much more potent when he is allowed to play direct and run at defences.

I wouldn't call it brilliant to be honest apart from those first few games when he had tons of assists, earned penalties etc..

He is good in most of games but don't think it's anything like brilliant.

Having watched every minute he's played, I'm confident calling him brilliant. He is a game changing player the likes of which we've not had since Robben was here, especially when he's playing direct. The media has hugely exaggerated his dip in form. All three of Mata, Hazard and Oscar have been brilliant - with Mata standing out. His stats have dropped because Rafa has pinned him to the left wing which limits his area of influence. RDM gave him free reign and let him run with the ball more often, but that made us vulnerable in defence.

I feel that next season he will really come into his own though, like Mata this season.

I've watched fairly new (read:most) Chelsea games and don't find it brilliant but hey ho, different opinions and that stuff :)

According to The Times, the Ba deal is not as much of a "bargain" as it seems as the complete outlay including agent fees and his wages will be nearly £30million. Quite a big commitment for a player with dodgy knees that could go at any time, but if he holds up he might be worth it... better than Torres anyway.
