We just need to put his comments on the dressing room wall and let the players read it before going out to play. Who needs a team talk when he comes out with such crap?

He will think differently then.
He's managed Man U for what, 22 odd years, he is the most succesfull British manager, he's won more trophies then we could ever dream about, and realistically ever win. Something tells me that there is no way at all that he could be made feel inferior to City.
Ya he's a Man U manager, but at some point shouldn't he be given some sort of respect? I mean without question he is the smartest football manager around and what he says, without being totally blinded by bias, usually has some sort of sense to it.
xirtarg said:In all fairness. he's only echoing what the majority of people on here have been saying. Just because it's coming from a rag means everyone's getting defensive. Until we've sorted out the back of our team, we aren't gonna win anything, we simply concede too many goals
And I agree, we've 10 forwards, there's no way we're going to keep all of, the majority, of them happy, and we're paying high wages for them to not even make the squad. And then we're spread thin at the back, it's a problem.
And with the back four that we have we're in trouble.
And he's right, why should he worry about us? I mean his main focus will be on proven contenders such as Liverpool and Chelsea, is he wrong to think that? No.
I mean, everything he said is true, he's not trying to get one over on us, it's not a dig at us, he's much more ruthless then that, he's just saying that Liverpool and Chelsea will be their main title rivals, and they will be. City could pull off a shock but come on, if you were a betting man would you put you're mortgage on City winning the title?
I mean despite what some of ye might think, he knows what he's talking about.
And like it's all ready been said, he's not "dismissing" City, he's just making the statement that Liverpool and Chelsea are the main threats..which they are.
It's actually an interesting read.
We've bought a lot of superstars who expect lots of money and starting time and to be the star.
When realistically, we're fecked when it comes down to it, we're just going to have alot of unhappy "superstars." And it's not like we've bought humble forwards who don't expect to be starting and don't expect that they'll need to work to get a place, it's not like when Man U bought Owen, he knows full well that of recent form he'd be lucky to make the bench of the reserves. Everyone of the players we've bought in the transfer market over the summer think highly enough of themselves.
"They have bought a lot of high profile players but they have 10 strikers. That is a hell of a lot.
"I have not spoken to all the managers but the one or two I have are saying "Who are they going to leave out?"
"How do you tell players they are not even going to be travelling to London? How does he pick a team? We are all interested."
It was bad enough for Ferguson to inform senior stars like Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo they would not be going to Wembley for an FA Cup semi-final with Everton.
At least he could offer the Champions League as an alternative. Hughes can't, which just makes handling the expanding collection of talent gathered at Eastlands all the more problematic.
He's dead right in all of the comments above.
People are getting so wound up about this, but what exactly has he said that isn't the truth?
Right now we're looking at a group of individuals, some of which are excellent players. But I'd rather an excellent team to a players that only play for themselves.
Players feel privileged to play for Man U, humbled almost. I want that at City. I want it to be more of a club that players would feeled privileged to come and play with instead of just a big pay day, which I have a feeling some think all ready, and they are the players who will only care about their own success, someone who'll put themselves and their own interests ahead of the club's.
