not being funny, what is mancini doing that is earning your unwavering belief in him.

again last night at stoke i was speaking to regular match going fans, and only one supported him, i asked him why, he said it was because he is the eternal optimist.
Lifes more fun as a optimist

We're joint 4th.

I've never known us to be so high in the table since I've been going.

I hated being shit, I hated not being in the top tier, I hated relegation, I hated the constant threat of relegation.

For me, this is a great time to be a blue.

I believe Mancini can deliver.

He's getting more points per game than Hughes.

All I wanted when the rag was in charge was that he'd be replaced by a man who gave us more. He was.

Not having a go at anyone who went last night or anyone you might have spoken to mate but just because people go to the games doesn't mean they know their shit.

At the Arsenal home game the guy behind me though Adebayor was Toure and vice versa. On Sunday when Ibrahim was brought on several people sat near me didn't know the guy existed until he ran on the pitch.

I believe in Mancini in so much that he has a decent track record and he's already shored up the defence. Be fascinating to know where we'd be know if we'd have Mancini for 18 months and he'd spent 200m on his own squad. I'd bet we'd be better off though.

Maybe I am an eternal optimist? I don't know, I know most people who know me would disagree and say the exact opposite. I just refuse to turn into one of those ruddy faced old fools you used to see at Maine Rd, the ones who booed Goater. We've been through bad times, I just can't depressed at being near the top 4. I just can't.

Maybe people that come out with the kind of abuse you do should STFU and stop trying to give laughable advice. Turn it in son

It's all a matter of expectations. The fans of a team predicted to get 40 points will be thrilled if they get 50, while the fans of a team predicted to get 70 will be sad if they only reach 60. This is true even though 60 is objectively higher than 50. This is human nature and has been studied quite a bit.

A man making 200K per year reports being upset if his colleagues are making 250, while a worker on 20K is happy if he knows others doing the same job are only making 15. Objectively, you would think the guy making 200K would automatically be happier, but it just isn't necessarily so.

Many people simply lack the perspective to appreciate how good they have it compared to others when they think they are entitled to more. You're not going to argue that feeling out of them.

Indeed. A lot of people on here thought we'd win the league. If that's the case then yes we're doing quite badly.

I personally felt we'd finish anywhere between 8th-5th with Hughes. I now believe we can finish 4th.

I can't predict the future and I may well be wrong but I'm not going to start crying in February.

Although under Hughes we were still in both cups and in the race for fourth.

Add to this some of the best performances (chelsea & Arsenal at home) and Even the rags away. IMO Mouriniho will be here by August anyway and if he fails what then....!?!?!

These days I'm too tired to post on here much. I look at the board and think: Fuck it.

It's just become a moaning shop.

One thing I have observed is that the majority of he worst, most unfounded, complaints come from newer members. There's no substance or support offered just, as Billy says, a tired one liner or a single word.

Sadly, the internet allows such people a platform and this forum is now firmly on the www map.

i can't believe people still think we are a force now mancini is in charge, we have got no chance of finishing 4th.

let me put this in a nutshell and its not a bob v hughes thing, i dont know how would have fared under hughes and of course we'll never know, this is how it is, not how i see it, the way it is.

we are shit
we are disorganised all over the park.
no one knows their role
we are no better in defence than we were before xmas.
we are toothless upfront.
we as a team have no clue how to break out of defence quickly.
there is not a forward thinking tactic in any part of our tactics or shape.
only our players natural instincts get us anywhere the opponants penalty area.

this means very good players heads are all over the place, errors and weakness is previlent throughtout the side, in turn we hand over any inititive and confidence straight over to our opponants.

end product?

disaster.

Weren't you supporting Mancini the other day?

What's happened to make you change your mind? Again.
