de niro said:i can't believe people still think we are a force now mancini is in charge, we have got no chance of finishing 4th.
let me put this in a nutshell and its not a bob v hughes thing, i dont know how would have fared under hughes and of course we'll never know, this is how it is, not how i see it, the way it is.
we are shit
we are disorganised all over the park.
no one knows their role
we are no better in defence than we were before xmas.
we are toothless upfront.
we as a team have no clue how to break out of defence quickly.
there is not a forward thinking tactic in any part of our tactics or shape.
only our players natural instincts get us anywhere the opponants penalty area.
this means very good players heads are all over the place, errors and weakness is previlent throughtout the side, in turn we hand over any inititive and confidence straight over to our opponants.
end product?
disaster.
No is the way you see it. Its always the way we see things unless you're Portsmouth and no matter how they see it they are f**ked.
I don't think we are shit.
I don't think we are disorganised. I think we used to be disorganised and it was all seat of the pants stuff which sometimes worked out ok and sometimes didn't.
I think everyone knows their role or is learning their role. I think some players may not like their role or preferred it under Hughes.
We are better in defence
Our attack has been blunted
The team is not sure on the counter because they also have to think about team structure, defence, positional in relation to one another etc.
A lot of us don't like the changes and all this switching about and chucking kids on in important games is terrifying stuff for many it seems but in truth all we are doing is being taught what Mancini thinks is the best way to win the top prizes in football today. Its all concentration, awareness and thinking about the game. Which is pretty much what all the top sides do. Chelsea are nothing if not well drilled. Its almost a default setting and when things get tough every player automatically knows what to do and where to go. For us it isn't automatic because we are still learning. Capello now has the England side well drilled and when first appointed he was placing players in positions on the pitch. Mourinho does the same, Ancelotti, Mancini it doesn't really matter. With a team that is trying to be one of the elite the first thing they are going to do is tighten them up, drill them and smack them round the head until they learn to be alert and concentrate for 90 or 120 mins.
Whatever top manager we employ you're going to get what we currently get or at least a variation on the theme. What you ain't going to get is 'charge' and lets try and score lots of goals which is pretty much what we had.
We are trying to break into the European elite of football. You don't do this by emulating the local eleven from the Dog&Duck.
