While i agree he looks like a monkey he isn't actually a monkey
He definitely isn't shit, vastly overrated but not shit
He does tend to go down easily in the box but not to the extent of say Ashley Tom Daley Young

Neighbour's son got a text this morning from a mate saying that cash and Adebayor and Johnson for Bale. Looks like good business for Spurs to me. One diving cheat for another diving cheat (I'm on about Johnson by the way).

Bale has pace and power. I'd love to see him here. Hazard might be better but Bale has more qualities that the current team lack so would improve us more IMHO.

If we lose out on Hazard we should go all out for Bale. Shouldn't be too hard since Spurs will take the cash and Bale doesn't want to play Europa.
 
Don't all shout at me at once, but i think Bales over rated - Work with a guy who's a spurs season ticket holder, he was gutted last season when spurs didn't cash in on him when people were talking about 80mil .. To me he's had a few good games in the champions league and everyone thinks he's amazing.. good player yes, but plenty of others i'd sign before.
 
I don't think he's that overrated, he is a little one dimensional but the thing is just like Robben who is also predictable (cut inside every time) he is so fast and skillful that he's not easy to deal with even if you know what he's going to do, which is why he draws so many fouls. He also made UEFA Team of the Year which was voted for by people all over the world. There's probably better value for money to be found but he's Premier League proven and also homegrown (something we have to think about). He'd be a good Plan B if we don't get Hazard IMO. The only thing I'd be worried about with Bale is he's had some injuries and if they accumulate and he loses his pace then he will really lose his edge I think.

I pretty much agree with this. Top player who possesses qualities that are seriously lacking in our squad and would be a great addition on the proviso that his pace, strength and stamina will endure.

We would not run him into the ground like Spurs do but even a slight loss of pace would be catastrophic. Just look at the effect that's had on Torres. Any player whose game is to any substantial extent based on pace is a risk though I guess.
