To be fair, that was a red card.

This and like said above the Derby will be too hot for him at the moment.<br /><br />-- Mon Nov 08, 2010 6:24 am --<br /><br />

Balotelli is his own worst enemy!! The guy is immature and comes across as the worst kind of pampered, sheltered spoiled brat athlete. He should be banned for being feloniously stupid in his approach. Hes got lots of talent though. Everytime he gets challenged/tackled he acts as though he shouldnt allowed to be touched. WTF???

In fairness he has said as much - that he needs to understand the refs in the Premiership - in Italy those would be freekicks and another ref may have looked at it differently.

Still haven't seen the sending off, too many threads to look through but is there a video link anywhere on this site for it ?
<a class="postlink" href="http://soccerblogvideo.blogspot.com/2010/11/westbrom-0-2-manchester-city-balotelli.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://soccerblogvideo.blogspot.com/201 ... telli.html</a>

It's still a red card for me, or more to the point, there's nowehere near enough doubt about it to get it overturned.

Annoying that he won't be available for Brum and Fulham but I suspect he wouldn't have lasted long in a Manchester Derby anyway.

It's very early days for him, but he needs to lose this gigantic chip he carries everywhere on his shoulder ASAP or he is just gonna get wound up every single week in the Premier League. Hopefully this will act as a very steep learning curve for him because he's clearly a superb footballer.

Ballotelli appeal?

Come on guys get a grip. Can't believe how many people don't want him to play in the derby. It's exactly this kind of game that he was bought. He's a match winner. And you need them against the best sides. The occasion suits him perfectly.

Whatever you say about United they aren't a bunch of cloggers. The atmosphere will be intense but this guy has played in cup finals, Milan derbies and a CL semi.

Re: Ballotelli appeal?

I dont think that was a red, looked like he was trying to pull his leg away cos the other guy had hold of him. He really needs to take a chill pill tho. There gonna kick him in every game now to get him sent off. Welcome to the prem Balo!!!

We know that appealing will not be succesful so there aint any point. They have only overturned about three decisions in the history of the prem!

including ibanez of west brom only last week...

Re: Ballotelli appeal?

No matter how annoyed I was for the silly sending off, and the potential for being sent off at the swamp, when I watch clips (youtube, yes I know I know) I still get excited.

I love the arrogance, flair and passion just as much as hated it in Ronaldo.

Re: Ballotelli appeal?

I'd take the 4 game ban compared to a 3. The baggies got away with loads and the ref was a joke. It might of been a red on face value but worth the appeal in my opinion. We need Balo for the derby.
