"Manchester City can confirm that we have today submitted an appeal following the dismissal of Mario Balotelli for violent conduct during Sunday's 2-0 victory at West Bromwich Albion.

The claim will be heard by an FA independent regulatory commission tomorrow, Tuesday November 9."

so he's available for Wednesday if successful

No , we are saying a second yellow would have been correct so a one match ban should apply which will be served on Wednesday

Re: Ballotelli appeal?

Surely David Gill can have no (official) involvement in this decision due to the conflict of interests?

Re: Ballotelli appeal?

I'm guessing if the club aren't appealing the red card then Balotelli wasn't in line for a start on Wednesday night anyway. Hence City trying to get it reduced to one match.

Re: Ballotelli appeal?

you can bet the mortgage Mancini will go for the quite conservative Yaya, De Jong, Barry, Milner, Silva midfield

Re: Ballotelli appeal?

Presumably we're arguing that he didnt kick out at the WBA player hence not violent conduct, but accept that he fouled him, enough to justify a yellow, when trying to untangle his leg?

He's 'accepted' the red as a second yellow, but is appealing the 3 match ban for a straight red.

source:SSN.

I can't see how thsi makes sense. Admitting a 2nd yellow for what, violent conduct? Therefore it's a red. Surely the club would object to a second booking all together.

Really can't see a decision in our favour.

You can also bet your mortgage that Taggart is already planning how to get De Jong sent off or at least rendered less effective with an early booking.

De Jong will be vital to this game I reckon.

-- Mon Nov 08, 2010 2:38 pm --

There's a conflict of interest having any one club represented on the board of the FA unless they are all represented. It's a joke full stop.

aya, De Jong is vital to everything we do. Always feel 10x more confident about our club when he's on the pitch.
