Re: Ballotelli doesnt like Manchester....
I actually think those Balo quotes are old. Even so, he still said them. We cannot, however, honestly think that every person who comes here is going to like the city. It's never going to happen. There will be players playing for clubs in the very best cities in Europe who don't like where they are.
But we are no longer competing with Bolton Sunderland Leicester Reading. We are competing with Barcelona Madrid Munich Milan. And as good as Manchester is compared to the first list, it is a nothing city compared to the second. Even compared to Newcastle Liverpool Leeds and Birmingham I think Manchester is a better city for business, shopping, restaurants, performance arts, clubs, bars, pubs, architecture, museums and galleries, festivals, nice suburbs, big expensive housing, health/fitness/multi-sports facilities, parks, public transport, Manchester International airport... Manchester is the second best city in the UK, and that's a definate! But it's nothing like as good as London in almost all of these areas; and it's nowhere near as good as Istanbul Stockholm Paris Berlin or Madrid - okay they are all capitals - but it's nowhere near as good as Barcelona Milan Munich or Frankfurt neither.
I've been to London a few times. I can see where my tax is spent. It has better..everything. When I look at other second cities around Europe they have better..everything than we do too. Too much money is spent on London. Compared to other second third and even fourth cities in some countries we get less money to spend on improving our city than them.
As for Balotelli...well...I still haven't fully taken to him on the pitch. Yea I have fully embraced his bonkers personality, I love the song we have for him and am impressed with him sometimes on the putch. But he's got a long way to go before I fully take to him as a footballer.
