I find it hard to believe that players and managers get into physical altercations at clubs up and down the country.

I cant help you with that pal. Theres several reported spats including Clough, Pardew, Souness, Slur Alex etc etc and these are supposedly behind closed dorrs so no doubt several more occur

Oh you misunderstand me, I'm not saying it's never happened. Just that it isn't a regular occurrence, because as you rightly point out most of these spats end up in the papers even if there are no pictures. I can't think of more than a handful over the last decade in the PL.

Its not a regular occurence at City as far as I'm aware. This is the first manager v player spat I can recall.

Players and managers are probably both aware that either raising a hand to the other could have catastrophic consequences for their career.
