Really?

Hes no Messi nor Ronaldo and I know you prefer RVP and Rooney to be in the blue right now but to say he isn't very good flies in the face of the evidence.

Go on then...Evidence it.
I think he's going to get a you tube clip of the goal from the swamp.

Or the other 29 he's scored for us at a rate better than 1 every 2 starts. Or his performances at the Euro's. Or that pass. Or the nomination for the Ballon d'Or.

Alright mate.

I just don't understand peoples blind loyalty to this guy. Pidge made a really good point before that if he had been playing for the rags we would al have been pissing our sides at having such a liability in the team yet because he wears the blue we must support with no criticism.
He has been fucking average on the field for the time he has been here bar the odd decent performance but his off field shenanigans really are boring now

And also the worst goals per min(prem games) of any of our 4 strikers at the club since they joined
And thats with his pens included

Let me try. How many games have we said "Wow. Mario was excellent"?

There was the FA Cup Final, the Blackburn game last season, the 6-1 and a pass in the QPR game for Aguero's goal that was probably more in hope than in expectation.

That's 3 games in two and a half seasons. Most of the rest, he looked like he couldn't be bothered, tried fancy little flicks or tricks that got us nowhere, dived all over the place, sulked or got himself sent off and banned. That might be OK for the likes of Lee Croft or Willo Flood, who cost us nothing, but not for someone who thinks he's the reincarnation of Pele and cost us nearly £20m and over £100k a week.

A quote from Vieira in today's Times;

4.54pm: For 13 seconds, United believe they have won the title. Then Nigel De Jong picks up the ball for City in his own half, surges forward and plays the ball into Agüero 15 yards outside QPR’s penalty area.

Vieira: I was looking at the clock and thinking: “OK, we just need half a chance, that’s all.” But we need to be in their box. I remember the goal like it was yesterday. Nigel got the ball, he was looking around for someone to pass to and spotted Agüero, who gave it to Balotelli and then set off on his run.

The way that Mario slid to give Sergio that return ball — that was a great pass. At that time in the game, with so many players around him, when Sergio got the ball back at his feet I was just saying: “Hit it straightaway.” In your mind, you try to put yourself in the shoes of the player and I just wanted him to hit it at once but when he took it past Taye Taiwo and scored, well, it was unbelievable.

Personally I think the best reasoning is that no manager in the world except Mancini feels the need to have four strikers of such a high profile and high wages. Better sides than ours make do with just one or two top class strikers and a decent supporting cast. We have four "top class" (though I don't think two of them really are but the general perception is that they are) strikers and it seems more troublesome than beneficial at times as he constantly swaps them around to keep them all happy, never allowing for any combination to form any long-term partnership. You have Aguero and Tevez with their 100% win record when starting yet Newcastle was their first start together in about a month. I feel the resources put into an unnecessary luxury (4 strikers earning £120,000/week+++ each) to be put into other roles that really need it more. I'd rather we had paid someone like Eden Hazard those wages than a fourth striker playing a periphery role with 1 league goal this season as it'd be of greater benefit to our squad (in my opinion).

Every player has his price and no one should be indespensible as such , however I would suggest we ended with four strikers because of the fact that we couldn't off load Tevez when the sentiment was there to do so.

There isn't as much hype about the four at Manure and while its the case both Rooney and Wellbeck can file more than one role , so can Tevez and Ballotelli if the opposition and the circumstances warranted it.

Difference is that Welbeck and Hernandez are not high maintenance and high profile players (both earn well under £100,000/week), they do not seem as demanding and Ferguson isn't as pressured to rotate because of their reputations, meaning Rooney and Van Persie have struck a lethal partnership. Our equivalent of United's strike force would be something like Aguero, Tevez, Michu, and Guidetti. Tevez and Balotelli can play different roles but how often are three of our strikers on the pitch at the same time? Only if we're desperate for goals, meaning Mancini doesn't rate their versatility highly enough to regularly have three of them on the pitch. A striker like Jovetic would probably allow us to have three on the pitch more effectively from the start because he can comfortably play in the hole or as an attacking midfielder.
