Balotelli (continued)

Every newspaper is reporting tonight that Balotelli to Milan is on, although could depend on them flogging Robinho.

Looks like that 'mole' at City has been leaking info again as the details are exact from every journo.

They are all reporting Mancini has asked the club to sanction a move for a defender too.

They could all just get together and decide on the story. That way people believe it. If they all had different stories, no one would believe any of them.
Don´t see Mario or any other player for that matter leaving in the January window.

Personally I believe City are briefing journo's on this one and it seems likely that Mancini cannot bring himself to trust Mario now or at any point in the future so selling makes sense before the contract winds down too far

I do take exception to some reports ie Ian Herbert describing the transfer as 'disastrous'. Torres to Chelsea was a disaster. Carroll to Liverpool was more farce than disaster but still a disaster and in terms of effectiveness Mario has had his moments - FA Cup semi & final, stepping up when Tevez decided golf was the next big thing, the 6-1, that assist to Aguero. Outstanding success? No not by a long way. But disaster? Give me a break. For all Mario's faults and moments of sheer awfulness there have been enough good times for me to enjoy and enough comic moments for me to smile over.

I am not sure why the media descend into emotional incontinence over Mario and grown man froth with rage on forums over his very existence but hey its been fun and frankly if we get anything like what we paid for him then fuck it its been money well spent.

Incidentally am I the only one left who is a bit sceptical at this Mario on £170k a week bit given Mario was 19 when he joined? The basic of £160k to £190 was given to the likes of Tevez and Yaya but Mario? Winning the PL no doubt triggered bonuses but still not buying it.

No, Bob, you're not. This was first reported as fact by Simon Mullock of the Mirror (who claims to be a 'massive' blue) as fact (due to him having a "rock solid source")and has been adopted as such by the wider media. It is very much part of their reciprocal MO. One of their fellow journalists prints a lie which they subsequently disseminate as fact without any apparent form of verification. They are sub-human scum.

There is no way Mario is on £170,000 a week. Anyone who believes that is deluded, imo.

It's also in Gazzetta, without a doubt there's been a leak IMO - possibly a deliberate one by the club. But City seem to be asking £25million and I'd be surprised if any club pays that.

I think we need rid, shame but his career here is going nowhere, no good for bus no good for him.

He's a fool, a liability and its a shocking waste of talent.

I'd be interested to know what kind of price we could get for him, I suspect the italian clubs don't have nearly enough money to afford him though (knowing the Milans they will likely bid 5-10p and scoff when we suggest £ figures).

just as interestingly will selling mean reinvestment in this window.

His best performances I can remember are the FA Cup final and the 6-1. It's true though, he has never had an exceptional run of games for us and the only person to blame for that is Mario himself. Without consistency he is not worth the hype attached to him, all of the world's top strikers are generally consistent and bad patches are brief.

all of the worlds top strikers are well over the age of 22 and very few, if any, were consistent in form or goal scoring at that age.

what did you know about van rapist when he was 22? anything?
i recall him being sent off at southampton for jabbing his finger into a players eye, being slagged off by wenger for letting the the team down, being injury prone, barely in the team for three matches running, not mature enough to be relied upon as a goal scoring centre forward......now look at him.

So do we just carry on paying him 170k a week for the next 5 years in the hope he comes good? or do we fuck him off and get someone twice as effective and twice as relaible on half his wages?

coming to the end of my tether with him..so i,m not sure is the honest answer.

however, seeing as your post is referring to his wages..do you remember when he first joined us, seeing regular quotes of him being on 1ook a week??
he is on the same contract now, and yet his wages have jumped to 170k due to media inflation..folk like you just swallow it up and use it as a stick to beat him..its that simple to create another reason to hate him.

when tevez first refused to play for bobby, rodney marsh couldn,t wait to tell the world" i can tell you now carloz tevez is the highest paid player in europe, he,s on 250k a week blah blah " just drama queen rubbish ala he,s a bad man and he,s over paid. how would rodney know what carlos is being paid?-how would you know what balo is on?

how many times to do we hear what the real flops in recent times, torres and carrol, are earning? never. 85million quids worth of striking "talent" and the media never mention a wage packet. ffs what did they do last season between them...6 goals ?
