Fans are starting to ruin the game on the continent, far too much of that shit going on. Flares on pitches, pitch invasions, petrol bombs thrown at away fans, setting fire to stands, and fans are starting to target social clubs and pubs they visit and set them on fire burning them down completely.

It is absolutely awful, you are right, and getting worse because of certain political affiliations and influences that are, unfortunately, nothing new (but had previously waned).

Though, I would contend very few of those perpetrating those crimes are actual “fans” in any real sense. Just like hooligans of heyday were only nominally supporters. Support of the club was just a pretense for operating with a group of people that share your extreme values and give you the sense of belonging and purpose that you lack otherwise.

Many other clubs and their supporters across the world and history have played similar parts in horrible actions, unfortunately.
