Balotelli penalties

Yakubu is the only one I can think of who takes them like Balo but I have seen him put them wide of the goal.

For those worrying about him getting found out, there was a training report posted a while back which included penalty taking against Hart from Mario, Dzeko and co. IIRC Mario sent Joe the wrong way every single time, much to Joe's frustration. If a keeper can't find him out in consecutive penalties I'll be amazed if someone can once or twice a season.
thanks for info.

He's the best penalty taker. There is no luck involved, that proves it for me.

Is he the ultimate master at penalties, or just a cocky git who has been lucky so far? I can't quite decide.

Elano was without doubt the previous master. Hit the ball hard into the side netting and it's pretty much unsavable no matter what the keeper does, and that was Elano's style. I don't think he ever missed one for us did he? I would be amazed if he did because he was lethal.

But Balo's style is wierd. The stuttering, slow run up and then casually "passing" the ball into the net with the keeper going the wrong way every time. I would like to believe he has so much skill that he actually waits to see which way the keeper is going and then decides at the last minute which side to pass the ball into. It certainly looks like that.

Or is he just dead jammy? Fecking brilliant either way! The one last night was awesome. Again.

Forgive me but Francis Lee is the best I've ever seen and I love Mario because of his personality. Nonetheless Mario is a classy footballer.

Fantastic technique, he makes the keeper commit and simply passes it into the other side.. keepers have to shift their body weight to the side they are gonna dive or else they won't get anywhere near the ball.
Best pen taker I've ever seen and I can't ever see him missing one.

was gonna post this question.

sure he's gone for the same corner everytime.

when he takes one i expect him to do something stupid, rather than just put it in the net.

his run up makes me nervous.

if he missed it last night it would have been deemed a shocking penalty, but cause the keeper went the other way it makes it a world beater.

personally i'd rather see him have a few yards, run up and put it in the net.

If he's put them all to the left its cos the keepers have all dived to the right.. just coincidence.
we shall see

He'll do a mini haka at the goalkeeper and and use the Francis Lee mode some time. Trust me.

The only thing that troubles me about Balo's style with the spot kick is that is he goes too far with the piss take, some referee wanting to make a name for himself is going to disallow his spot kick. They will all have studied his technique and may be looking out for an infrigement of the rule that states - 'the ball must be kicked after a run up by the taker, who may slow or stop his run during the run up but MAY NOT FEINT when he is on the point of kicking the ball'. So far so good with his kicks, but if he is deemed to feint his kick, as our show boating Mario may not be able to resist, you can bet some official is ready for him!! I'm sure he's not a daft as he likes to make out and knows exactly what he's doung.

he`s awesome, i havent seen a goalie come anywhere near moving in the right direction, never mind getting a hand on the ball, unless to pick it out of the net.

the goalie should have saved that! atrocious. Balo and Aguero are both a million times better than Tevez who was just greedy and was never a great finisher. These two are clinical.

I think Balo without doing anything seems to freak them out so they completely forget what they have been told/seen.

Thats why a majority of the time the goalie just stands there because he cant think which way to go nor remember what way Balo went last time.
