Balotelli penalties

Keepers left again!

For anyone doing their homework, should have learnt somethin by now.

When you watch his run up, everything tells you that he's going to the keepers right, he even kicks the ball looking at that corner.

Will be interesting when a keeper just decides to go to his left to see if Mario calmly slots it the other way. Its harder to be as accurate when kicking across your body which is why I think If Mario doesn't see the keeper move then he strokes it to the keepers left every time as its easier to get the accuracy going that way.

I think Balo without doing anything seems to freak them out so they completely forget what they have been told/seen.

Thats why a majority of the time the goalie just stands there because he cant think which way to go nor remember what way Balo went last time.

what he does is wait for the goalkeeper to commit himself or get off balance - and all he does is look to see which way the keeper goes (or doesn't) before he passes the ball into the opposite corner. This is why it doesn't matter what you're thinking before the kick (if you're the keeper) because Mario's going to stick it in the opposite direction to whatever you anticipate and move towards. I guess the best you might try is to remain statute like in the hope of moving faster than the speed of light into the corner he passes it to - but that's a bit of a big ask unless you're superman.

Mario's the best penalty taker I can remember seeing.. and as I've said before if I had to have someone take a penalty as if my life depended on it I'd have Mario take my spot kicks. He's brilliant.

- and I'll say it again, look at the way he totally flummoxed Friedel against Villa last season with two penalties in one match:

Yeah Dax said that. Cheers guys!!!

He keeps his eye on the keeper and the slightest movement he puts it the other side. Look at yesterdays pen, Krul moves just slightly to his right.

Technique, power and precision. Has to be up there with Ronaldo and Messi as a peno taker.

Balo rooted Krul to the spot but even if he guessed right we wouldn't have got to it as he stuck it perfectly in the corner.

It's a matter of time when someone would catch the ball on those penalties... don't find them fancy and professional tbh

He's been taking them for 4 or 5 years and I can only remember one being saved back when he played in Italy. Some players are just insanely gifted at certain aspects of the game. Balo is gifted at just about every aspect.
