To be fair though, the deal hasn't been completed yet.
I'd love it if, after all the negotiations with club and agent, Mario just turned round and said, "Liverpool!? Haha. I'm not fucking going there!"

Mario won't be turning up at Anfield without them paying him serious wages, he'll want at least 8 million a year I guess, it's going to take a lot of negotiating to get this deal done. If he does sign I figure he'll expect to be the main man, if Rodgers starts him on the bench he'll just switch off and then you've 'lost' him. He's unplayable on his day, but then so is Adebayor, and you wouldn't want him back.
He must know what wages LFC are offering. Can't see there being a way back when AC Milan are trying to offload him to everyone. They want him out. He's already said his goodbyes.

Re: Will We Still Love Mario Now He Is A Dipper?

When he looked like he was bothered he was excellent but that was all too infrequent. A 1 game in 5 player.

He did some great things, no doubt, but probably more often he had no impact at all.

I loved his song and some of his goals but him, I didn't. I wasn't sad to see him go but I do feel a bit strange that he'll be playing for Liverpool and against us.

I'll probably give him a clap but nowt overboard. He's no club legend.

Really, I was done with this clown after his Arsenal sending off. Couldn't be happier he's going to one of our rivals. Whatever big goals he scores will be more than nullified by all the games he spends walking around uninterested, or actively sabotaging the team with red cards and petulance.

Mario couldn't even hold it together for his 'father' Mancini. If that's how he treats his father, I can't wait to see the bullshit he pulls on Rodgers.

I was thinking this. Could well see some fun and games! But he's an ex Blue, and in spite of his idiotic moments he was an integral part of our climb to the top, whatever his detractors think. I loved him when he was ours, I will still like him even if he does pull that dipper shirt on. Not love, just like.

He's one of the few footballers who has made his reputation off the pitch. He's had a handful of special games, particularly for Italy at the Euros, but that's it.

I think we saw the best of him in our title-winning season when he got 9 goals from open play. He'd more or less gone on strike in his final season at City.

I could understand a team like Newcastle going for him, but not Liverpool a club who will be trying to get a top 4 place. When he was at City, the jury was out. He had talent, and it was a question whether he could be consistent. Then he had his big chance at AC Milan - his club. The fact that they are trying to sell him tells you how it's worked out.

No. Can't boo him. He's boring now. I want to watch players for what they do on the pitch.

The reality is that AC Milan have halved their fee to get him off their books.

All he does is take penalties.
Tbf liverfool do get a fair amount of penalties.
Good luck to the lad,he knew how to wind the rags up so he's alright in my book.

If they are paying 16m then its not much of a risk really, if it doesnt work out they will easily recoup that.

I liked him. Always defended him against his many critics, but the promise has not materialised. If you can't do it at your own club when everyone is with you and the whole team is built around you, then that's it.

Be fun to see the 1st penalty they get with him and Gerrard arguing who is taking it

He could end up costing them A LOT more than £16m if he gets away with half the acts he got away with at City
