To be fair though, the deal hasn't been completed yet.
I'd love it if, after all the negotiations with club and agent, Mario just turned round and said, "Liverpool!? Haha. I'm not fucking going there!"

Mario won't be turning up at Anfield without them paying him serious wages, he'll want at least 8 million a year I guess, it's going to take a lot of negotiating to get this deal done. If he does sign I figure he'll expect to be the main man, if Rodgers starts him on the bench he'll just switch off and then you've 'lost' him. He's unplayable on his day, but then so is Adebayor, and you wouldn't want him back.
He must know what wages LFC are offering. Can't see there being a way back when AC Milan are trying to offload him to everyone. They want him out. He's already said his goodbyes.

I'm sure I read somewhere they offered him 90k a week....might be wrong.

Re: Will We Still Love Mario Now He Is A Dipper?

I hope we will never be like Arsenal-fans booing former players. Than again they will say Mario didn't join the dippers for the money. And we would be back to where we left of: Nasri won 2 PL-titles, an FA- and a League Cup. Yeah, but we won the FA-cup and the Charity-shield using our own money ...

As for Mario, thanks for the good moments i.e. the 55 minutes at OT and good luck wherever you play except when you play us.

He's one of the few footballers who has made his reputation off the pitch. He's had a handful of special games, particularly for Italy at the Euros, but that's it.

I think we saw the best of him in our title-winning season when he got 9 goals from open play. He'd more or less gone on strike in his final season at City.

I could understand a team like Newcastle going for him, but not Liverpool a club who will be trying to get a top 4 place. When he was at City, the jury was out. He had talent, and it was a question whether he could be consistent. Then he had his big chance at AC Milan - his club. The fact that they are trying to sell him tells you how it's worked out.

If they are paying 16m then its not much of a risk really, if it doesnt work out they will easily recoup that.

He could end up costing them A LOT more than £16m if he gets away with half the acts he got away with at City

I don't understand what you mean.

And I just read another saying €200k a week + add ons.

has he signed, because if hasnt done by midday he cant play against us

its now 12.05 so no Balotelli Monday night, shame.... would have been fun.

Plus its always easier playing against ten men!

When he looked like he was bothered he was excellent but that was all too infrequent. A 1 game in 5 player.

He did some great things, no doubt, but probably more often he had no impact at all.

I loved his song and some of his goals but him, I didn't. I wasn't sad to see him go but I do feel a bit strange that he'll be playing for Liverpool and against us.

I'll probably give him a clap but nowt overboard. He's no club legend.

Maybe...but 30 goals in 54 games also indicates how its worked out.
