Balo's main difficulty is his mental approach and inconsistency. He has blistering pace and a rasping shot but sometimes he tries a harder option when an easier one would be more effectice for the team. All too often he plays as an individual.
He has improved over the season, but will be dissappointed he did not put away his one on one. He must learn to be stronger mentally and embrace the team ethic. Hopefully the appearance of Tevez will get him to raise his game.
Mancini managed the substitutions and tactics very well last night. Silva's current inconsistent form is more of a concern to me than Balo.

Spot on. Now that Nasri is finally looking to settle in I hope RM will let Silva have his long overdue rest. He has some ankle problem doesn't he?

Mario will one day become what we hope for, as long as he listens to padre Roberto.

The player that put the biggest smile on my face last night was Zab. What a fighter. Hope he stays on in the club like Vieira. Great guys both of them; people like that will infuse the club with winning mentality for decades to come.

Ahh, the Mario conundrum. I think it comes down to this. He's simply too young and immature to be our #1 forward and leading the line - no matter how much I want him to be that player. He'll improve season upon season, but his miss when he went through one on one is symptomatic of his recent performances. He's lost his edge and needs to be dropped.

Pundits/Fans need to realise that it's a team game. Mancini obviously felt putting Yaya further forward with Barry in Midfield would be a better tactic in the second 45 as Mario by he exceptional standards wasn't in the game.

We all want him to be the player we no he can but i would off taken him off after 30 mins against lisbon at home. And he wouldn't off started last night for me but we won so i don't care. Only so many chances you can give him he's shown he's class but must do more
