Or it could be that after the Vinny appeal was turned down whilst being so confident about it + the fact the FA have said we can add an extra game if its a frivy appeal, they could be thinking we will take the lesser or the 2 evils.

You keep missing the point don't you? What Manchester City are saying is that they reluctantly accept Mario will be banned for 4 games, not because he is gulity but because they know Webb has obviously changed his story to allow the FA to charge him. There is no point fighting a losing battle when the people who are supposed to govern the law move the goalposts to satisfy their own biased agenda. When justice is impossible then you might as well accept the punishment and have a player lost for 4 games instead of 6 or 8 games.
