Imagine a population of a town split with 5 black people in it and 50 white people.

1 black person commits 50 crimes.
50 white people commit 1 crime.

Which section of the community has more an issue when it comes to crime, the whites or the blacks?

because the way you look at it and the way that it actually is are two different things.

So only if it was just that easy to not commit the crime when the city shuts down the mass transit used for members of community to get to and from home. Then arresting folks for trespassing as they try to find alternate routes home. People were blocked off and forced into the the "riot zone" when all they wanted to do was go home. There's also visual evidence of police officers throwing bricks/rocks and whatever else at people first trying to incite more of a riot.

I did read the article.

That's how I was able to read that the article stated that she didn't recognize those fighting with the police...

But Gardner said she didn’t recognize the people who starting lobbing bricks at cops and looting businesses after Gray’s funeral on Monday.

“These guys aren't from here, they go from place to place causing trouble,” she said. “This doesn't accomplish anything. This is our neighborhood."

That quote is in direct relation to those involved with the altercations with the police, not her own situation.
