I want to know how some people get hold of the tickets, I found out last night that a not very famous ex city player from the 60's had two and has sold them to a blue for £250 each. How the fuck is this allowed to happen?

Name and shame the fooker, Charlie.

The most expensive ones are not far off that price, and we get 200 of them.

Gutted for all those Blues who have forked out on travel and accomodation without a ticket. I won't take the piss. I considered it, but at 5500 points kind of worked out I'd have no chance. However, I still believe that the club should have some responsibility for providing more accurate information for those on the cup schemes.

Once the cup schemes are closed, the club knows exactly how many are signed up. So as soon as the Barca game was drawn for example, they could say 'based on an allocation of 4500 this could potentially sell out at 9000 points'. If anyone took a chance after that, then that's their look out.

Assuming we make the final which we will, C'mon City, I guess there will be an allocation of about 12,000 if we're lucky. Again It would be a great help if the club said 'we have 18,000 members (my guess no inside info) on the Euro cup scheme and we expect this to sell out at 7000 points. This would help prevent every Tom, Dick & Harry like me start re-mortgaging the house to try and make arrangements.

Anyways, good luck to all those out there without tickets. Great place to be on the lash after a famous City win!

Unless you are 100% sure then don't. These rumours are utter bullshit at least 99% of the time. Everyone on here once went on some daft witchhunt because shinawatra had taken 1000 united away tickets for his mates. Only a few weeks ago The sheikh had taken a whole block of Barca tickets for a school.

Chinese whispers with lashings of bullshit, nearly always.

So can I take it every home and every away will be sold out from now on. You know so all the moaners can boost their points total ?

Thought not.

You are missing the point you idiot , the point is the system is flawed whereby someone on less points can get a ticket ahead of someone who has more.
The systems not really flawed as the only way(barring those corporate tickets and the few supporters clubs receive) to get a ticket is with the right amount of loyalty points. If those that buy then give them or sell them on to mates what solution to that can City possibly come up with because I can't think of one.

If the supporters who get them sell them on at face value to other fans then no problem ( which I think will be in the vast majority of cases)
If they are selling them on to touts then they should be ashamed of themselves.

Correct, it's not the system that's at fault it's people passing on tickets. That could/does happen regardless of whatever system you use to sell the tickets.

Generally the loyalty point system is as fair a system as is possible to have but you're never going to stop people buying tickets and then giving/selling them to mates if they don't go.
That used to happen even before points but of course back then (apart from Utd away) nobody wanted the tickets and supply outstripped demand so it wasn't an issue.

Years ago (back in the 60's and early 70's) when we had the 'vouchers' in the program I was always asked by 2 City fans who lived in our street to buy a program for them so they could obtain the voucher (or away game program) without attending the game. So what really is the difference today with selling tickets gained with points on the loyalty scheme?
No system is infallible. The one we have is pretty good and in the vast majority of cases it ensures the loyal fans who attend the highest number of games get the tickets for the biggest games.
I am OK with such a system.

The system isn't flawed
Those that have done the hard yards will be in the Nou Camp, like they will be at Carrow rd,like they were at upton Pk ,st Mary's where we didn't sell out
Those that haven't but feel a sense of injustice that isn't there, won't be[/quote]

Agreed, not buying platinum tickets has done for me, before their introduction I was near the top of the tree loyalty points wise, but now I only have 8750. I have attended around 10 away games each season during that time, and always joined the cup schemes; but now it has come back to bite me in the bollocks. I admire the fans who go to most of the away games,I know many of them and they deserve the tickets, no question.

Had forgotten it was cup scheme first, actually surprised there is that many people on the cup scheme!
