Barca

I think it cements the fact that Messi...In all honesty...will probably never leave

How could you possibly sell that freak of nature and justify it to the fans

He's there until he's old enough to ship off to America and the MLS.

He'll be shipped this winter to the Copa America.

And he was talking with el Kun Agüero about scoring goals against the over rated kraut. Our Sergio hat tricked the bastard way before Messi's yesterday show.

Still hope el Kun could convince his best mate to move to Manchester.

You mean Messi FC. right?

Without this man, I doubt Barca would have won half the stuff they have in recent years.

He makes legends of team-mates and people like Pep.

Unless we are now saying the buffoon which is Luis Enrique is now a master coach?

Enrique was out the door six months ago until the charm offensive to get Messi back onside.

No better than City, Chelsea or even Arsenal for that matter, without this freak of nature.

Deluded.

the best player ever has scored two worldies against the best keeper in the world and barca had done the european champions from 2 years ago 3-0 and frankly looked on another planet in doing so...forgive me but i dont really see how city feature in this story....are you seriously expecting credit for the fact that we lost by less than bayern?

were you expecting credit when united lost at stamford bridge and we didnt?

I think what the op is looking for is a bit of balance in the reporting.

When we were beaten by Barca the popular media angle was that we were shit.

When Bayern are beaten by Barca the popular media angle is that Barca are brilliant.

So it means Messi is happy now? if so that is one sad news for ''Messi' thread.
But wait a minute ...if Messi makes Pep unhappy then there is good chance Pep will come to City . Its still a win win situation 8-)

we were shit against barca....we didnt go there and have the majority of posession like bayern did. as someone said, if it wasnt for hart and some dodge finishing, we would have been spanked. Bayern were pretty good value for 0-0 for 70 odd minutes. and you'd still give them a shout eben if an outside shout in the return leg with 3 of their big players back...id we'd lost 3-0 first leg we'd have had no chance.

the thing the game brought home for me last night, regardless of the result is that all of the top english teams, including us, are miles away from the level of barca and bayern.

The vast majority of Hart's saves in that game were in the last 15-20 minutes when we threw caution to the wind, so don't make out like we were battered all game, we weren't.

Neuer pulled off good saves from Suarez, Neymar, Alves before the little magician did his thing. Bayern created one chance in the whole game and didn't have a single shot on target.

It's bad enough the media treating us the way they do then come on here and see our own fans doing the same fucking thing. FFS

Don't get so worked up! It was just an observation I made that City were not as bad as the English press made out at the time. The same press who are now exhonerating Bayern despite the fact they lost 3-0

relax, im not having a go at city, just saying we were second best by a distance against barca - youre porbably right on reflection, bayern were also. i just think going back to the original post about somehow city shuold be getting some sort of credit from last nights game is unrealistic. we dont get spoken about in the media in the same context as the likes of bayern etc thats true, but on the european stage we've done nothing deserve being spoken about in that context either. i just htink you have to earn praise like some of the other european heavywegihts get...and outside of 2 domestic titles, when we've been on the big stage in front of europes journalists and football fans, we've not done ourselves justice...no getting away from that.
