Barca

Four losses in a row demonstrates great consistency (in a Wenger voice).

I'm not getting carried away by us losing 1-0 at Barcelona .
And Bayern Munich losing 3-0 at Barcelona .
It doesn't prove anything .
I know City are still miles away from being a super power in Europe .
English football gone backwards compared to Spanish and German leagues .

Watched the match on NowTV - good value at £6.99p. Anyone watch the following programme on at 10-15pm about Messi.?.

He came to Barca aged 12 with his dad. Lived in a house paid for by Barca. Won some World youth tournament for Argentina when he was 16.

Reason I am mentioning this is that the bloke from Barca was mentioning various people at Barca and he mentioned Tixxi Bergustain(??) - probably I have spelt it wrong.

Yeah Barca paid for his growth hormone treatment in exchange for obtaining a player with the potential to become one of the best players in the world.

Barca are currently serving a transfer ban for obtaining international players classed as minors between 2009 and 2013 which broke Fifa rules.

In Aguero's book, "Born to Rise", it mentions that Messi was snapped up by Barca at about the age of ten after being the star player in a schoolboy tournament in Argentina. Kun starred in the same schoolboy tournament the following year and helped by family friends and connections he was then signed up by Independiente. Kun was the stand out player that year with another youngster - who was signed by Milan too young who didn't go on to make it as a top professional.

The format of schoolboy football tournaments and leagues in Argentina seem better geared to identifying the top talents - with smaller size games / pitches helping kids to demonstrate their skills as well as commitment.
