what begins?
world domination by buying barca 2
or press speculation about buying barca 2

I'm sure Danamy is saying the poaching begins of Barca players.

Deulofeu, Samper, Tello and Alacantra are the best coming through and on fringes.

Add Marc Muniesa to that list, one for the future

*Edit

Another to add to that list and keep an eye out for is: Jean Marie Dongou, he's certainly on City's radar

I've heard of both but not seen anything of them. I've seen all bar Samper but I have researched Samper before and he's the nuts apparently and I mean top end.

I will keep eye out now though, I only watch Spanish La Liga and unless they're subs its hard to track, maybe worth downloading a game they feature in and watching at work when its quite.

One lad I'm hearing lots about is Zidanes son. Keep a look out for him, Enzo I think his name is.

The reason we hired the Barca top dogs is to mirror them and poach, for this reason I expect us to go for Pep down the line with the youth knowledge. What you reckon?

It's going to be interesting next summer that's for sure, it's looking like two of the best managers in Europe (arguably) are going to be up for grabs and both of them would love the City job.

The problem for them is Mancini, if he wins the title he's fireproof and so he should be with back to back wins.

The future for all three managers is in Mancini's hands, both Pep and Jose will be watching us this season with great interest.

For every club. At least according to Balague.

-- Sun Dec 02, 2012 8:21 pm --

Doubt he'd be fireproof. I can't see Soriano risking his own future because of Mancini. Bobby will have to do what they'll want or he'll be sacked. English press don't like him, failures in Europe... won't be such a big problem to sack him. If they want Pep they'll try everything to sign him. Easy.

By doing what they want?.............like winning the League you mean?

I've not been the greatest fan of Mancini's but if we win the title there's no way we'll sack him, we're not Chelsea.

Jose is the best in the world imo but our owners must be cute enough to see the guy is about numero uno and nothing else. He goes to teams to win something and then move on. If he came he'd have to be willing to stay here and for years. His press conference was a pitch for the job as we all know but imho Pep is over him because of his connections to the board and because of his experience with Barca youth and academy. If I was the board I'd be inclined to go for Pep but as you say should the dreaded happen it's not like we'll be doomed, we'll be looking at the creme de la creme.

The most telling for me is the fact Pep didn't go straight to Chelsea when they sacked DiMatteo, it stank of a man keeping his options open and not fancying that job 100%. He can either go to a club in transition squad wise with an owner who swaps managers like most clubs swap kits. Or he can choose the rags or he can choose us. If I put my biased head to one side and be neutral I'd look at history but also the here and now. The rags have a rebuilding job, smaller funds and fans whom will compare everything to what 'Alex would have done'. With us he has a quality outfit with no key players to replace, funds to spend and a better youth academy coming through all whilst being overseen by people who trust him and he knows intimately. On that basis I'd say we are front of the cue.

As you say, Bobby wins the league and we owe it to him to be loyal and he deserves nothing but 100% backing.

No way Pep was taking any job until next summer regardless, purely out of respect for his reasons on leaving Barca and wouldn't go back on his word.

Abramovich has already offered him the earth and he rejected it for this reason, he also told them to come back in the summer, hence the reason why Benitez is only interim.

Only going on what I've been told from people who I trust, at this present time i disagree with your thoughts.

Currently Chelsea are in front of the queue for Pep, but like I say that could all change depending on how the season pans out.

What you've said is common knowledge really and most likely spot on. Ballague for all his faults said this and has done over and over.

I believe we are the ones front of the cue. I can't see how any manager can fancy a job at Chelsea. It's probably the biggest poisoned chalice there is. Ancelotti wins a double and is sacked the season after for finishing second. Di Matteo wins a double including Romans most wanted CL and yet is sacked. No way can any manager be eager for that job, maybe for salary but most likely you'll be sacked once you take that job on be it 6 months or 18 months, you will be sacked before you see out your contract.

IMO United have a better chance of getting Pep than Chelsea. If Pep does go to Chelsea I'll be amazed. 100% opinion rather than anything fact base, obviously Chelsea are completely geared up for Pep but is Pep geared for them? His missus may fancy London but she shouldn't plan for years of residence there because Pep will lose that job before their young child will even start school.
