Gerard is the one player we really need to get! Considered to be the most talented player at Barcelona, and recently turned down a new contract until summer 2017.
Has got a buy-out clausul of 10 million euros.
He is quick, really good technique and very strong physical.

Hope Soriano/Bergiristain is on this one!

I agree wit this. Bit the problems is, as with all our potential signings, he might not be willing to come here to sit on the bench.
He has quite an ego, or so I have heard. Maybe in this case that's something to our advantage as he may see it impossible to become who he feels he can become, when playing in the shadow of the great Messi.

Signings like these are the most exciting ones me thinks, such as Gerard, Isco, Muniain, Alcantara and so on. But in order for these young skilled players to develop into great players the need to play competitive games, and I'm afraid we wont be able to offer them that.

We will if we clear some space

Agree with this. I am looking forward to any signings initiated through Our new Barca links. Hope to see some unheard of gems suddenly on our books that begin to build our future. Gerard is one such player, I am sure there will be others. It may be the youth signings that never get mentioned in the mass media we need to keep an eye on.

Hi, I'm new here, name's Mark. I'm more of a Barca fan, but I do like watching City and keeping up with the youth system..etc. I'm 16 and I also write for a footie website, too :-) Been coming on this site as a guest for a couple of weeks but finally decided to register.

Having watched Deulofeu a couple of times, I've got to say he's an incredible talent. While I think he would take Sinclair's place on the team, I'm sure Mancini could fit him in somewhere. He's quite versatile and could easily play where Tevez usually plays when linked up with Aguero.

However, he does have an ego, so he probably would expect a first team position but he's still not good enough for Barca (not even a bench-warmer position), so I think there is a chance of him coming to City.

If the reports are true about him rejecting a contract, then City definitely have a chance, while City have a great attack, Deulo has more of a chance making City's than Barca's for sure.

He is definitely one for the future - imagine this midfield if they all lived up to the hype in a few years time; Deulofeu - Denis Suarez - Pozo.

You started well but then lost your way at this point.
Hahaha thanks. And what do you mean? I understand Sinclair needs to be given more time, but I just figured because both are essentially wingers, Deulo would act as a replacement for him on the bench?

Hey there!

I hope we can sign him but I worry if Deulofeu would get a chance as Mancini never really plays with any wingers unless he changes I slightly doubt the chance of him being put in the team....

Is he ? We would sign him in January to replace some who rarely gets on even when sub and remember we can nearly as many subs as there were members of Earth , Wind and Fire

Thanks for the warm welcome :-)

Yes good point. Although, Deulofeu is quite versatile, so he can play just behind the striker and on the left or right flank. Personally, I rate Deulofeu higher (controversial, I know haha) than Sinclair, but Sinclair does have an advantage that is he's played Premier League quality football week in, week out for the Swans. Deulofeu's only major experience is in the Spanish 2nd league and a couple of minutes here and there for the Barca first team.

I wasn't necessarily suggesting that Mancini should buy him January (sorry if it came across that way) but maybe in the summer. He is in talks with Barcelona over a contract, but it seems the talks are quite long and he is yet to agree on deal. Still some hope.
