That's what makes the recent outburst by Tebas so hypocritical. The Spanish Banks (aided by the Government) keep both Barca & Real in business & would never, ever, call in their debts. They can however (and no doubt will) order them to cut their costs. Football has had a well overdue wake up call as a result of this pandemic. What Barca & Real can't stomach is that City are structured to ride the storm whilst they are not.

The Spanish situation is even worse than the rags. It's government backed!

Barca journalists are reporting it's just postponing of the salary. Players didn't agree to take a pay cut. They agreed that barca can pay it later. That will allow the club to not get bankrupt immediately.
