They spent (if they’ve even paid it yet, which I doubt) £55m on someone who didn’t really stand out at a relegation fighting Leeds.

They’re mental!
You cant say Rafinha didn't stand out at Leeds, he was their best player by a country mile, quality player.

Barcelona started to buy either older players or bit part players hoping that playing for Barcelona would elevate them.

Raphina is a good player but was/is he good enough to play for the Barcelona that Barcelona think they are?

Pique to retire this weekend after one final game at the Camp Nou. Have to assume thats Barca shoving another club legend under the bus to save every penny possible after dropping into the europa league. They've treated their legends disgracefully.

Perhaps we knew that there was a huge possibility that Barcelona would default on the payments and they would suffer serious consequences such as banned from European competitions or relegation
People in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks, as someone once said
Was it Michael Shields solicitor?

Just askin'

What an incredible player Piqué has been for them. Truly, one of the greats of our era.
He scored 53 goals for them. He's a central defender, ffs!
By comparison, Terry scored 41 for Chelsea — miles away — and is the highest scoring defender since the PL was created.
(Some on here will remember Emlyn Hughes, who scored a total of 49 goals for Liverpool in the old First Division along with all cup games, domestic and European. That said, Hughes was versatile, and didn't only play at left back and central defence).

I noticed their game with Osasuna was on ITV4 and flicked on to see the score. They were losing 1-0 and I'd just seen Lewandowski jump into an opponent and lead with his forearm into the guy's throat. i thought it was a straight red, but he'd already been booked for summat so he went (31 mins) and then Pique, last game but only on the bench, decided he'd have a pop at the ref on the way off at HT and he got a red. Can't remember anyone getting sent off from the bench. Once a Rag always a pillock. So Barca played the entire second half with ten and nicked it 2-1! Seemed to remember something similar at weekend. although we didn't have Haarland sent off from the bench for moaning about Joao's dismissal!
