So that’s five of the twelve teams originally signed up to the Super League (Barcelona, Juventus, Atletico, Manchester United, Arsenal) not in CL knockout rounds. AC Milan and Spurs also firmly in the balance going into the final round.
That's because they're shite.

Just spoke with the family friend who works for Barca that originally told me about the deep financial issues they were having well before it was being widely reported (I posted about it on here to quite a bit of skepticism at the time) and he has said that there is yet another scramble to secure short-term financing to avert a cashflow collapse, with much more “pessimismus” surrounding near term prospect of major upheaval, especially amongst non-playing staff and vendors (as they see the players as largely untouchable after the summer renegotiations).

He is already looking for a new position elsewhere.

He is a lifelong Barca supporter, born just outside of the city in Rubi, so is quite depressed about the shambles the club is in.

I recall - and have also been saying they are Fked for a wile.

Last summer was madness. They needed to just let some players go bring some cheap ones in and just make a start in terms of having a cost structure that was realistic. In fact they should have done that going back to the last few Messi contracts. They would be no worse off now in terms of playing squad.

I'm not a barca hater - I like them over both Madrid sides. But I do think they are in serious, possibly terminal financial condition.

I don't see them getting thrown out of La Liga because of the cartel but Bernardo.. oh Bernardo.. you still sure you want them bud??

Tell your friend to try bag snatches on the Ramblas, there's more honesty in that than working for those crooks.

Will we ever get the money for Torres?
Perhaps we knew that there was a huge possibility that Barcelona would default on the payments and they would suffer serious consequences such as banned from European competitions or relegation
People in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks, as someone once said
