Early goal and it is game on ! Nerves will kick in for them and the crowd. The Barca crowd will really be against the team if that happens, they have been very poor this season.

typical city , lose to wigan , beat barcelona :)

We were beaten by Wigan when we were relatively poor and then hammered the rags the next game.

I was well pissed off yesterday but bring on Wednesday.

We've got nothing to lose and everything to win.

We have nothing to lose in this game. Forget yesterday, as competitions go, this one is the biggest, we need to have our best team and Pellegrini needs to think about how he can build a team not just to defend but also to get the goals when we need them. I really hope he doesn't go with 2 strikers because this match will be about being disciplined and like in the first leg about keeping them out and taking our chances. If we can get an early goal they will be rattled and the best thing about Barcelona is they can't change their shape to deal with a match, we know exactly exactly who will play and exactly how they play.

This game needs be extremely tactical because if Barcelona get a goal, we are absolutely stuffed! The most important thing is to keep it at 0-0 and use our quality to hopefully get a goal. There is no point going gung-ho in this one because we won't see the ball enough for it to make any difference, you cannot outdo Barcelona at their game and we play into their hands if we don't shore up the midfield and attempt to keep them out.

The perfect team was mentioned before -

Hart
Zabba. Kompany. Lescott. Kolarov
Yaya fernandinho
Milner. Silva. Nasri
Aguero

That gives us plenty of control in midfield, Kolarov gives us so much going forward no-one gives him credit for. Milner was excellent yesterday and he deserves a start because we need that work rate. Obviously Silva and Nasri are excellent on the ball and Sergio fantastic at holding it on his own. We need to go into this one not to control the game but to control the scoreline! Barcelona were beat yesterday by exactly that mentality, they had 75% possession, double the amount of shots yet lost 1-0. Barcelona look shot yesterday and we need to take advantage of them getting frustrated which they will quickly, if we go to try and outplay them we cannot win this tie, we need a Mourinho mentality for this I'm afraid.

Who does everyone think Kompany should partner with at CB? I'm wondering if Nasty is back but I think Lescott still looked decent yesterday, it's just whether he physically can handle playing a game like this after a full 90 minutes yesterday. We are really paying now for not signing Mangala because we are relying on Demi who I don't think was meant to play half the games he has and Lescott who was trying to force a move in January. We really need Nasty back and back playing to his top form of last year.

This team is spot on.
Its what he should go with for most games now, with Dzeko and Beast out of form and Jovetic sidelined.

I would play clichy for his pace and experience in these type of games maybe bring kolarov on later in the game if were still in it I'd go for

stay in the game till the 60 min thats when they tire they looked knackered at our place playing against 10 men after 60 mins hopfully a great night for man city I for 1 can't wait to get there and get stuck into the san miguel!!

Really demotivated for this after yesterdays game. For a while we have started very very slow in games, and if we do it in this game, we'll get torn a new one. The players need to right their wrongs now and put up a fight in this game. Hopefully we live up to the lack of pressure on us to turn this round. Absolutely nobody fancies us for this game and maybe that's a blessing in disguise.

Pack the midfield, hit them on the break.

Hart
Zaba
Kompany
Lescott
Kolarov
Garcia
Fernandinho
Toure
Silva
Milner
Aguero

Not sure whether Nasri, Milner or Navas will play on the wings. There's advantages to them all playing, but Milner will probably get the nod for his workrate in this game.

Tough ask to win, but we're City and if anyone can do it under these circumstances it is our rollercoaster team

If Wigan can beat us 2-1 at our ground we're cappable of beating Barca 3-1 at theirs, if anything the players should take a lot out of the Wigan game and apply it to this scenario, will it happen ? Probably not, but nothing is 'nailed on' in football and we have to go out believing we can do it.
