That's why they need a strong resolution on Thursday.

Apparently the BRIC countries are starting to contract with the trouble in Europe and the US. No money to buy their shit with

It won't come mate, you know it, just the usual bluster that will fizzle out within days.

They've been having meetings like this for god knows how long now, the tide can't be turned.

Of course it can be turned. Someone needs to fuck the fuhrer Merkel off to begin with though.

I'd beg to differ, you can't pay off debt with more debt, it's not a tricky concept.

Pray tell me, where do you envisage any sort of growth coming from?

Draghi saying he "will do whatever it takes" last week doesn't sound like "usual bluster" though. Atleast not in the eye of all world markets.

You keep saying "you know it" about things as if imploring me to agree. Much like you said all the markets would fall apart this year when we've seen (YTD):

FTSE 250 up 10.2%
Dax up 14.8%
S&P up 9.7%
NASDAQ up 12.8%
Hang Seng up 7.7%
MSCI world up 5.7%

I did say it was still a good time for investors all those months back.

Well you can mate.

Lets say you owe £50k on credit cards and are paying back £2k a month mainly on interest. You are swimming against the stream and just keeping your head above water but not getting anywhere.

Then you move the debt onto a loan that's more affordable as the interest in lower, now your payment is down to £1,200 per month and you are actually paying back capital as well as interest.

The extra money saved can then be used to promote growth within their countries and help jump start the economy.

Not if you're borrowing the money that you are paying back with, you're just increasing your debt mountain still, but a tad slower.

-- Wed Aug 01, 2012 10:35 am --

Surprise, surprise, the yanks hoof the can a little further down the road....

Was always gonna happen pre-election wasn't it. Politics is shite, when will they learn that we don't care who wants what for their careers, we would rather have some cunts in charge that put the country and economy first. It fucks me off.

ps - the market data is pleasing though yes??

Nothing gets done with 9 months to election, no way they could have this hanging about with nobody in charge. Also mentions that the Bush tax cuts end this year so will give whoever gets in charge room for maneuver later on in the year

I was saying earlier in the thread mate that if I am found to have missed potential money laundering, even if I had nothing to do with it, I face a jail term but when it's done at a corporate level nothing seems to get done. It's a joke to be honest.
