Funny why people say this, Milner was the worst player at City before he got injured, a similar situation was created with Barry and England before the WC, he was suddenly the most important part of the England midfield.

He's been asked to do a completely different job to scoring and taking on players, how many players does De Jong take on for example? His job is to sit infront of the defence and spread the play the wingers and full-backs do the running for him. Practically every attack starts through him, he is always moving to collect the ball, same cannot be said for lazy boy, who sometimes sheds his lead boots and does something decent.

Milner is the equivalent of a backup QB (American football reference for those of you across the pond :P). He is the guys the fans want to see coz the QB is throwing more interceptions than they want. Until he actually comes in and throw more himself.

Yaya is way better than either of the 2. his Laziness and tiredness not withstanding.

But to be fair Inesta and Xavi helped somewhat - essentially Yaya was a DM who took the ball from the back 4 to these two players - unplayable is a little over egged
