On a side note, how poor is Ashley Young?!?!?! He is terrible.

I'm glad that ref sussed out his cheating.....and the laughable Andy Townsend saying he didn't deserve a yellow.

Is it just me or does Ashley Cole offer nothing going forward. His touch seems poor and you dont get the same level of performances from him you do at Chelsea.

Barry to be fair didnt have the best of games and often gave the ball away last night, but then again Young, Rooney, Crouch, Glen Johnson. Cole, Gerrad etc all were pretty shocking

-- Wed Oct 13, 2010 11:01 am --

Just proof they dont actually understand the game of football

Italian manager playing with caution even though the opposition had no ambition going forward whatsoever! Why am I not surprised.
Unbelievable that Gerrard played so deep.

I think that Barry plays better for England than he does for City.

I have to disagree on that one. I think it's very rare that Barry has a 'bad' game whether in a City or an England shirt, but I do believe that some of his poorer performances have been for England. Hasn't put a foot wrong at City this season and doesn't receive the credit he deserves sometimes.

The manager is to blame imo.....set the team up incorrectly.

-- Wed Oct 13, 2010 11:36 am --

Pretty hard to look good as a defensive mid, when your attacking mid partner is playing centre back.

Oh, and Capello played an entirely English style last night; two pacey wingers, playing long balls to them. Montenegro played Italian football - disciplined, tactical and defensive

I didn't say it was an Italian manager playing Italian football. I just said playing with caution which mainly showed itself with Gerrard playing so deep alongside barry and the defence.
