Suppose it depends what piece you read. No real scapegoatery in the report i read. It said nearly all of em were shit.

Apart from Rooney? Lol wouldn't put it past 'em. Pricks.

I think Barry's problem is that he's a jack of all trades, master of none. He isnt a conventional defensive midfielder or particularly creative. He's a good player to have in the squad and would have been ideal for City a couple of years ago. But I think he just falls short at international level and I'd be surprised if he is a first choice for us for too long.

Not sure about that, mate. Along with Tevez, Kompany and De Jong he has been our best this season.

He isn't a great player, but he brings composure, reliability, and the ability to hold the ball and carry it when required. He gives his all in every game too. He is an intelligent player too.

I actually think he is more suited to a defensive role as he reads opposition attacks well, and has a good sense of positioning. Doesn't produce enough goal threat or passing ability to play further up the pitch.

I didnt see the match last night so wont coment on how Barry played but will coment on Montenegro. Ireland had them in the last quailifing group for the World Cup and they were a hard team for Ireland to break down. Fair enough Ireland dont have the talent that England have but it was no big surprise that they got a point from this game. They will waste time there players will go down at any given chance to win frees and they are a frustrating team to play. Wait till you play them on there pitch 1 of the worst pitchs you will have to play on very compact and they are a different team at home. Very good on the ball will hold onto it for long spells if need be and I would expect it to be a hard night in the away leg they held Ireland , Italy and Bulgaria at home to draws in the World Cup qualifers.

Sadly for English fans and this result of course you will have people pissed off about that result but they will be the hardest team you will play in your group. You will quailfy for the Euros no problem and will top the group so I wouldnt worry about last nights game and the preformace of the team. As you wont play many teams like them in your group.

Nobody played well. Even AJohnson who was arguably the best player, didn't have a good game. The coach played two holdin players against a team who was sitting back - that is totally not needed in any way at all. Gerrard should have been where Rooney was and Rooney should have been upfront with Crouch.

Nobody was terrible, well apart from Glen Johnson (and Liverpool fans blame Gillette and Hicks for their demise, Rafa spent £17m on GJohnson when they needed another striker!); but nobody was good. So there can be no scapegoats, we drew as a team and set of coaches together.

I have been really impressed with Barry all Season. However, he was " Gash" last night. Thing is though as a top pro he will already have forgotten it and will be one of the first names on the team sheet for Englands next game.

He was on a hiding to nothing when the media was rushing him into the World Cup squad when not fully recovered from injury.

Barry has been fantastic for us this season, but shocking for England. He is so left footed it is quite embarrassing. I don't believe International level footballers are incapable of passing at least 10-15 yards with their weaker foot but Barry appears to lack a right foot. He is a good passer with his left foot but too slow and unaware positionally to play a defensive midfield role at International level. I'm a firm believer that England need to get away from picking the usual players. Capello has said Terry and Ferdinand are his first choice pairing. That's ridiculous, it should be whoever is playing best at club level. I realise they need to gel and form partnerships but I think for too long the England team has picked itself. The fact Barry, Glen Johnson, Rooney and Davies were involved is that we have little else available. Bent and Defoe injured, Hargreaves (better than Barry) injured, and no right back at all to step in that I can think of. It's a dire situation and the press seem to believe Rooney dropping deep and playing cross field passes means he plays well. He needs to stay further forward and move so Gerrard and Barry can find him. (Rant over)

Barry did have a poorish game in terms of his passing which is normally fooking brill, but for me i'm more worried by his lack of mobility/sluggishness last couple of games (city/england respectively) he started the season looking more mobile than last year, to me he needs to shift some timber, the boy looks very jaded so early in the season!
