Baseless speculation Iheanacho/Bony

I reckon they're putting bony on to put him in the shop window and they know kelechi's potential and quality and be will be here a while.

Any potential bidders will be put off with the state of bony atm although I can see him going to West Ham etc and scoring 25 goals a season again.
Just don't buy this shop window crap at all. Why would you play an inferior player ahead of another just to get an extra million or two when it risks drawing or losing games which could cost the club tens of millions? It makes no sense. Peller just thinks Bony is a better option for what ever reason which we could speculate all day and night about

Your third paragraph makes some sense of the situation. I'd add that Kelechi is being saved for the biggest games...including next Tuesday. He really is very good.
No evidence that he is being saved for any games at all at present. Indeed a case could be made now that because he has had so little game time in recent weeks Bony is probably a better option.

It could simply be that given the investment that has been made in Bony, the club is still hoping things will click for him before writing him off and making a huge loss then having to spend even more money on a new striker.

^^^Is correct.

Bony stats for 2015/2016:

2 goals in CL in 279 minutes played;
4 goals in PL in 1032 minutes played (fuck me!);
2 goals in League Cup, minutes played not available.
Excluding LC that's a goal per 218.5 minute pace.

Kelechi:

9 goals in all comps, 3 in 425 minutes in PL.

I can only think of three likely explanations:
- He genuinely thinks Bony is the better option, or
- Bony was given a promise or half-promise, or
- Ian has done or said something naughty behind the scenes.

Being pig-headed for its own sake doesn't make any sense to me. Nor does the shop window theory. The latter would be a strange tactic for someone with only a short time in office.

He has probably promised Bony a certain amount of game time. He doesn't like breaking his promises apparently. He'd rather lose than do so.

I can understand him making promises to Willy for the Cup comps given their history together and the fact he has to spend 9/10ths of the season sat on the bench. I doubt that he has made promises like that to Bony or other players. I've noticed that he hasn't been asked about his ignoring of Kelechi in any of his press conferences. Probably because the press know he'd just deflect the question by making everyone fall asleep like he usually does.

I beg to differ on this. I believe it is plausible as an inducement for Bony to sign in the first place. Bony may well have pressed Pellers hard in the knowledge that Kun would always be numero uno.

Hard to believe it now, but Bony actually had a negotiating hand at that point in time.
