Bayern Munich (A) | Post Match Thread

I don't see how we line-up, unless he goes with Walker as one of the three centre-halves and shifts Bernie to left-wing back?

I'm sure it will be Laporte between now and the end of the season at left-back.
I think that's what'll happen as unfortunately we don't have any other option.

Pep played that system against arsenal and i think he'll have to do it again next Wednesday, with RM in mind.

I'd line up with:
Walker, Stones, Dias, Laporte at the back and have either Bernie or even Foden cover the left back position too.

We definitely need to buy a top left back in the summer though!

Prior to the red card incident, both Sane and Musiala should both put their chances away.

If they were intentional tactics, I dare say Pep wouldn't have felt the need to get Bernie and Jack to afford the wide areas more protection.

I considered neither to be penalties, but that is just my interpretation of the game and the race to the bottom of how the officials see things.

Seconds to Haaland's goal, Eddie pulls off a good save and Bayern have nobody in the six yard area following up.

Don't get me wrong, with three goals banked, we could afford a margin of error, and we had other gears to go to, but my view is Bayern over the two legs could just as easily be claiming the semi-final spot if they had a finisher.
The way I see it. Where were Upam ecano's hands/arms when the ball was kicked? They were behind his back. Where was his elbow when it made contact with the ball? At least 6 inches away from his body. Pen all day. There's was a bit more subjective. Although Akanji had his arm in the air, it was for balance. The ball was kicked from a couple of foot against it. Pen, although its the rule thats wrong.

I also agree that perhaps with a good finisher, Bayern may have scored at ours and may have scored a couple last night, and who knows maybe qualified. It's clear they're a good finisher, and a good centre half, away from being formidable.

But they didn't.

So is the Leeds home game scheduled for the 7th. May being rescheduled? As we are Madrid on the 9th May.

Do people really care about the performance , pep had us set up for game management and it worked , who cares, really. We played one of the best teams at their home , they were always going to get lots of chances
I don’t care about the performance cos it was as planned i assume. Very professional and thought out game plan and got the result.

Agree. Just the way it is at this level. The two best teams in the world collided this week and we came out on top relatively comfortably. Now on to a team I know we are better than, but they are the CL specialists.

Dont agree with this as on another day, we could have scored 5 or 6 goals in the first leg. At no point did Bayern look like scoring, the game could have gone on for another half and they wouldn't have scored.

These are all ifs buts and mayb's, end of the day it was 4-1 and Bayern only scored with a disgusting penalty.

Professionally managed, bring on Madrid!

Should have won on the night, their penalty was bollocks.

Could have done without the Ake injury.
I've given up with penalties now, no idea what is and what isn't but like the commentator said, what if it's the last minute of the final and the teams are tied at 0-0?

I think the only thing now is to give a penalty for handball and be done with it no matter what, so we all know where we stand.

A few rival fans of certain clubs must be getting nervous that City are going to win the CL. A few have been saying well if Sane scored its a different game and Real will score them. I dont really disagree that Real would probably of scored in the first 30 mins if we played like that.

What they conveniently ignored, is that if we are going off chances given away in both teams QF. Real would be much more worried that they gave away 3-4 very good chances to a side that is comfortably bottom half of the pl.

Totally agree, pen miss meant we could have had another goal last night too, if that had gone in I think their heads would have gone and it could have been another 3-0.
