The Chicago branch look a right bunch of wrong 'uns ;-)
All descendants of Al Capone, innit? Best keep away from them on St Valentine's day!The Chicago branch look a right bunch of wrong 'uns ;-)
It's hard to say I'm sorry.I can certainly vouch for Chicago , a more dyed in the wool blue you could ever meet . His old man played for City , his grandma lived at the back of Platt lane, he even took me to my first game , beat Newcastle 4 -0 if I remember rightfully for which I’m eternally grateful . He maybe more Yank than Manc now but the fella bleeds blue
I put a fiver on City to win (correct score of 2:1) got a message this morning from Corals, money refunded as it was not a 'proper game' of 2 x 45 mins.
I was quite pleased about that.
Then I remembered - I bet there were some City fans/betting people who had money on 1:0 and I suppose they are not so chuffed today.
After some plane fuck-ups, I once took the Amtrak from LA to N'Awlins - scheduled as 48hrs, but arrived 5hrs late...Who's on a train for seven fuckin' hours?
It was a friendly so wouldn’t be ‘official’ even if they played 90 minsSorry - I'm new here, am I allowed to quote myself to save time? Hope so.
It occurred to me this morning - because of what I describe above, is Haaland's goal actually his first official goal for City, or will it not go into the record books due to it being a weather effected match? Just curious.
Was this for the 'Song for Erling' thread..? Struggling to think of the tune though...IT'S Haaland. That's "H-A-A-L-A-N-D". One of the most famous names in the football world right now.
Håland is also correct.IT'S Haaland. That's "H-A-A-L-A-N-D". One of the most famous names in the football world right now.
yep same goes for Haaland. It’s HAALAND there’s no fucking R in it!
It was a friendly so wouldn’t be ‘official’ even if they played 90 mins
Telling them lot to shut up is never bad adviceOh right, I didn't realise. So in a similar vein can I tell my Manchester United friends to shut up about winning the Bangkok Century Cup recently, because they keep going on and on about it.
yes preseason is all about fitness, so any made up cups are irrelevant. I feel the same about the charity shieldOh right, I didn't realise. So in a similar vein can I tell my Manchester United friends to shut up about winning the Bangkok Century Cup recently, because they keep going on and on about it.
If it’s so frustrating for you must be doubly so for Eling himself.IT'S Haaland. That's "H-A-A-L-A-N-D". One of the most famous names in the football world right now.
You remind me of my ex wifeIt's hard to say I'm sorry.
But but but what about the opening of Pandoras box at the Dippers. It was a friendly so wouldn’t be ‘official’ even if they played 90 mins
Watched NYCFC a couple of weeks back on sky and thought, what is going on with their fan base, there was hardly anyone there and they are the defending champions. What has happened. Was sceptical about the pre-season trip to US as the best preparation for opening day but it looks like from the broader perspective it was a great success. The club has clearly gone up a level over there and this can only help.
At the risk of overgeneralising, my experience of Americans sports fans is they're enthusiastic and knowledgeable and though they can moan like fuck if you get them on the wrong subject at the wrong time they are a pretty loyal bunch who do can do dark humour/entertain themselves when its all a bit crap, which admittedly probably isn't going to be a short term problem for recent City converts. Be interesting to see if/how the increased profile and fan base affects the apparently slightly odd situation/relationship with the NYCFC fan base.
We are a global club now and there is no going back so we should embrace our overseas fans and from a distance the US fans look like a good addition to the fanbase.
